The feds could pass off the evidence of Paxton’s crimes to state prosecutors to take the pardon out of play. Similar to what Mueller did with Trump.

@WARRIOR OF GOD because protecting access to voting, when the pandemic would complicate existing systems is important to protecting democratic processes. Increased early voting polling locations, extended hours, some 24/7 and full weekend access to early voting did something amazing in Harris County. More people voted, with more ballots cast in early voting than all votes cast in the 2016 election. During a pandemic! I live in Harris County, where for years, voting was complicated and sometimes confusing. Election day comes, have to vote in your polling precinct. Drive down to the school to learn your precinct was not open this year and was combined with another precinct or precincts. Can be frustrating and people don’t have time to play hide and seek with the ballot. Much better this year!

Texas is getting close to 50/50 state. That terrifies the GOP, so instead of trying to reach out to moderates they make it more difficult for poor people to vote with the convenience that the rural and suburban voters have.
@Plen122 the founding fathers wanted DC to be separate from the states for some reason. It would likely take a constitutional amendment to change their status.

And back to his law suit… You’re forgetting that there are more people in Texas than any other state, besides California. If Texas wants to annex the votes of a smaller state, as their right, why would a court stand in their way? Texas has more than double the votes than Georgia. By sheer volume of population you would think that the numbers allow a state like Texas to accept or reject Georgia’s vote tallies, especially in this election. Paxton should perhaps replace Barr. He’s earned it.
becky it does not matter how large one state is compared to another, it doesn’t give it the right to change the outcome of another state. Would you like for California to do that to Texas? Of course not! Texas is trying to rob the votes from another state and delegitimize the results that were completely legal.
