In those 11 months the Supreme Court could do almost nothing as there were 8 members, which could easily lead to a tie. Now, TWO months from the election, Republicans are claiming that “it’s our duty to fill the slot”, a complete turnaround from the “the American people should have a voice” statement they gave 11 months before the 2016 election.
