His back was facing one of the officers while he did this, so yes, he was probably shot in the back. Was he reaching for a gun? Maybe, maybe not. Did officers have any reason to believe he had a gun in the vehicle? Yes, violent felons often have firearms in their car illegally, because violent felons don’t follow gun laws.
Was the shooting justified? No one knows yet, so stop being so quick to judge. Once the FULL body cam footage is released, including everything that led up to the confrontation (unlike in the george floyd case, where they intentionally only released the videos that made the officers look horrible) we’ll be able to make a judgement.

@Onti O Well as you say, we don’t have the facts, but what we do know is those were his kids and that he was there “to de-escelate a domestic incident” . If he had a knife on him is still unclear but even in that case the police could have taken other actions to stop him. And you know what the worst is? If this incident was happening in germany almost no one would be questioning the police, because we trust that our forces use their gun as last resource and that if they broke the law they get a fair judgment in front of a court. Its just truly baffles me how the police in US managed to create this horrible image of themselves and all the things they must have done for people to react like this
@charl99ie The guy was required by a sex offence, had resisted arrest before with a gun under his seat, had been tasered, Police had their guns out because the situation clearly required, he told them he was going to his car to get a gun, in US anybody can own a gun, in any place of the world that guy would have been shot, you can’t have Mickey mouse Police, who ever wants to argue about 7 shots then they are right, Police tells you to stop, taser you and then draw their guns, common sense tells you to comply, we can’t have people without basic boundaries or common sense based on race, he also was high on drugs and should not be picking up and wanting to take his 3 kids driving and high on drugs, so if he would not have got arrested you will need to open the doors of prison and let everyone out. Law, order and boundaries are for everyone, full period. In Africa he would have been shot first hand. Excuses to continue with no boundaries looting, torching and do whatever they want, none of these guys have a freaking job to support their families.
Yeah see what happens when you let riots continue, they just keep coming back and think nothing will happen to them. Rioters need to be locked up.

@MA X No that’s the same clipped video. The other angles show him getting tased then continuing to wrestle with cops. Then he gets up with a knife, the cops pull their guns, he strolls to the car and reaches to the floor.
Knife is confirmed by the cameraman, cops and even the video itself you can hear “drop the knife” 3 times. It also makes sense. The other angle shows all 4 of them stop wrestling instantly (when he pulls the knife).

@LegendLength tease him so more… shooting should be the last option and if you can confirm a gun, than shoot away..I truly believe that the police in America struggle to see that they have so many options… option 1, is asking the lady for the car keys as he go to the car and just lock it… since there is so many of them.. one check their surrounding while assessing the situation…The children in the car saw this guy being SHOT AT! Ivan Diaz Of course you point out the corrupt autopsy report. When the family investigated the incident themselves. The TWO coroner’s found the cause of death was asphyxiation. How hard is it to see that the police will do anything to protect their own. They even tried to say he had drugs in his system to discredit the idea that they killed him. Now, if I was a cop , I would do what cops do in the rest civilized world (Europe). With the other two officers I would arrest him and THEN check if he had any weapons in his car.
You can not shoot someone while trying to get away from you.(again this is not what cops do in civilized countries ).
Cops job is to arrest people if they think they pose a threat to the society or themselves…not to punish them. You don’t let them get in their car and use that as an excuse to empty your gun on their back.
