Roseau, Dominica – Sunday, August 30, 2015 – Prime Minister of Dominica, the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit has appointed Baroness Patricia Scotland International Efforts Relief Coordinator following the devastation caused by Tropical Storm.
Tropical Storm Erika poured hours of torrential rain on the island for a prolonged period on Thursday, August 27, 2015 causing loss of life, major infrastructure damage, landslides and interruptions in public utilities.
As efforts to mobilize international relief support continue, Prime Minister Skerrit has stated that a focused and organized relief programme, especially from foreign benefactors must be ensured. The appointment of Baroness Scotland takes immediate effect.
