Yes, this is rude! With all the campaign hubbub we generally hear only sound bytes from Bernie. Rachel put herself out on a limb to challenge her colleagues to do a Round Table discussion with Sanders and Biden. Biden has not yet responded to her invitation for a one on one…but this interview with Bernie offers him air time rarely gets from the corporate media, and offers the public a little more than sound bytes to comprehend his vision of leadership…why crumble this great discussion up into little pieces when we could see the whole thing???

Biden wants to keep things the way they are. He said so himself, that nothing is going to change.
No he didn’t say that . Plus it isn’t true. He wants to add a public option to the ACA. You may not agree with that approach and that’s fine but it isn’t keeping things the way they are.
Actually it’s following the precedents set forth when Medicare and Social Security were originally passed into law. Both programs needed changes and were changed accordingly later on. Obama’s administration admitted changes would be needed for the ACA. The difference now is we have a totally obstructive GOP and people have forgotten that even a new plan like M4A will be discovered to need changes also after it’s been put into practice.
Plus we seem to forget that many doctors now refuse to treat Medicare patients. They cannot be forced to practice medicine either and I’ve not heard Bernie or Elizabeth Warren or anyone else say how they plan to address that. If not careful, we could initiate a serious shortage of doctors. And there are other considerations Bernie never addresses:our own culpability with sedentary lifestyles, poor eating habits, out of control mass shootings, opioid addiction, etc etc, etc. Bernie makes it sound simpler than it is. Many of the other countries he sites do not have these same challenges to consider.

@Nb B182 Lots of reasons to dislike Bernie, but his health is not one of them. Its 2020, getting a stint doesn’t mean a death sentence. In fact, with diet and exercise you can reverse heart disease. My Mother had a quadruple bipass in 1998 and she changed her lifestyle and lived a very healthy life till 2016, and then she was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Her heart wasn’t even an issue. Joe Bidens mental state is a far worse medical issue. He has dementia. There’s no question about it. And he won’t even let us know who he picked for a VP and the rest of the cabinet so we can see who would actually be running things. Because Biden doesn’t know if he’s coming or going. And even his staff said he gets a little murkey in the afternoons. The President can’t be mentally stable in the morning and then lose his marbles after lunch. Bernie at least has all his marbles and is sharp as a whistle. I don’t think Biden is going to make it 4 years. McCain did the same thing and turned out he had a brain tumor. Biden needs a head scan ASAP. That being said, he’s still better than Trump, but I wouldn’t put him on stage with Trump.
