Wow this is totally absurd. None of the other candidates have even close to this bad of baggage with black and brown people like Bloomberg does. Not even Buttigieg. And yes Bernie voted for the crime bill but only because it also had included the Violence Against Women Act and an assault weapons ban. Bernie warned at the time that the crime bill was going to lead to the issues it’s now been shown to cause.
Sharpton is trying to muddy the waters to defend Bloomberg indirectly.

Look, we can argue and debate about whether Bernie should have ultimately voted for the bill or not but to suggest that Bernie “throw blacks under the bus to get something HE wanted” is simply disingenuous. Unlike Biden, Buttigieg, or Bloomberg, he NEVER BELIEVED NOR DID HE EVER SUPPORT the idea that we had to be “tough on crime” for blacks and that it was ONLY “black behavior” that caused crime. Bernie’s position on a crime bill was more nuanced tdd than what is told in the media and that is what happens when you put so many aspects into a comprehensive bill.
