People rent property with other people’s identity all the time. Its not hard to set up shop in jamaica with a fake identity.
They are brave to share their story, considering all the criticism they’ll get! But, bear in mind, those criminals will have a hard time setting up shop anywhere else, now that this story is out there!

I was scammed as well but my case was with a game console. It was $36,000 JMD. Watching this clip makes me feel a little bit better because others have lost more than I did ($140,000 & $150,000).
