That said your comment is just “Fox News stupid”….. the whistleblower has absolutely zero obligation or responsibility to testify. That is secured under the whistleblower act. The whole point of whistleblowing is that you provide a channel through which you can report wrongdoing by senior members of staff without being at the frontline for attacks from the the people that have reportedly committed those offences.
Whistleblower laws by the way apply to all US businesses as well. If you work at McDonalds and your boss is stealing from the register, then you can report that through whistleblower channels without having to worry that you will be targeted as a result.
This law applies across all US businesses, don’t be fooled into believing that this intelligence officer is being given special treatment.
This is an important employment protection, don’t get blinded by the circus that is Trump
