CTV News is Canada's most-watched news organization both locally and nationally, and has a network of national, international, and local news operations.
I’ve never been a fan of the NDP for many reasons, but Mulcair is correct on this one.
Which means, Tom Mulcair’s analysis is very objective rather than subjective
@Professor Akiba Yes, I would say he’s analysis is definitely based on fact and common sense and not on political lines.
Just a day late and a dollar short.
@Douglas McFadyen I can assure you that Johnson is costing a lot more than a dollar.
I was just thinking the same thing
Why cant Turdeau step down?
Ego
Because of NDP coalition
It’s not that he can’t! He won’t! Brian Mulroney stepped down for far less than Trudeau has and is !
Narcissistic personalities like this sick individual are incapable of stepping down. They usually have unpleasant endings. Again history tells the story.
@Bill Fairhall you can only hope
If former Governor General has any morals or self respect he will step away from this mess
That means he will stay !
Too late. He knew what he was doing when he accepted
you said a mouthful there are no morals or self respect for david johnson just how much tax free money will trudeau give me for this report.
But he doesn’t
how can a person who does not answer questions be ‘gold standard’?
The clever way in which they do so
How can they not be charged with contempt?
Investigate and audit all politicians and family for wrong doing. Where did their wealth come from? Why do they manage to stay in power?
Regular audits of all politicians fundraising and personal finances should be required by law. Wrongdoing should come with real, punitive, criminal sanctions.
He can quote what Pierre Trudeau said “fuddle duddle” lol
It’s not complicated…just say no! Canadians want a very public and transparent enquiry. Why can’t we have it? Does trudeau need to hide something?
Not that it would do anything. what is done is done. it will be swept under the table in no time
Yes!
Is that not already obvious to you
Mulcair is only half right here.
As a long term friend of the Trudeau family David Johnston was unqualified from the outset for this appointment.
100%
Call Johnston what he is: The Special Racketeer.
Given the Trudeau Foundation resignations, David Johnston can no longer be viewed as objective/independent and should resign immediately.
Agreed!
Same with Trudeau….🤬
As if he ever was.
He was never viewed as objective or independent however his resignation makes it appear as though he MORE objective and MORE independent.
He wasn’t objective/ independent prior to the resignations. If he had integrity he never would have accepted the position to begin with.
If David Johnson had any integrity he wouldn’t have accepted this position to begin with.
Well, you shoulda known that from the git go.
He can’t step down. This was a stroke of genius on behalf of Trudeau and his staff, remember?
David Johnson is getting a HEFTY PENSION (Our tax money) because he was Governor General and now he gets an additional $1400 per day for being the Rappateur (our tax money)
Friends helping friends!
Justin loves giving taxpayers money to his family and friends and mostly to himself
See how Tom talks about Telford, she’s the “gold standard “. He knows the game very well. And that’s what’s wrong with our politics.
The problem is this government has had so many controversial issues over the last eight years it has become normalized behavior and unfortunately far to many Canadians don’t take seriously.
Wow the shock on her face when she said that you are saying the same thing as Pierre. lol😅
It’s weird to me that the government stresses the avoidance of conflict of interest or the mere appearance of, but that doesn’t seem to apply to anyone else higher up.
David Johnston puts his retirement in question from the mere audacity of him taking the job knowing he is a friend of jt. jt also hired his sister in law to protect Canadian Ethics but truly protect jt non-ethical ways.
There was a controversy that speaks to this that I vaguely remember written about by Andrew Coyne in Maclean’s some years back.
Don’t beat around the bush… Why not simply admit that Pierre Poilievre was right, from the very beginning… And for the right reasons!
