Alex Mitchell : I don’t think the OP was trying to be sexist; in fact, I suspect they felt they were being quite complimentary to the ambassador, and very insulting to Trump. However, the comment is sexist because saying that she is “more of a man” than Trump supports and perpetuates the sexist views that, A) “being a man” has set societal expectations that women are not usually capable of fulfilling; B) that when a woman does something to show that she is strong and capable—as is perfectly within the boundaries of human nature as a whole—it is not a feminine trait, but a “manly” one; and C) that if a man shows “feminine” qualities (such as not being strong and competent in a leadership role), that they are somehow less of a man than they would be otherwise.
Burger WithEverything : While I agree with you that the comment is sexist, I don’t think the OP said it with the intention of repeating sexist tropes. Indeed, such comments are so deeply entrenched in our culture (and many others), that many people repeat them without ever realizing the deep implications of such a statement, and/or how it would be insulting to both women and men. I don’t think it helps your cause to assume that the OP meant it as a sexist attack, as they clearly hold the ambassador in high regard. Politely calling it out and explaining *why* it’s sexist works much better than just insulting people and leaving it at that. Some people will think you’re being “too sensitive” no matter which route you take, but when you offer rational explanations for why you feel someone is wrong, people are much more likely to thoughtfully consider what you have to say.
