Fix the bus ๐Ÿš them that is the government needs to do because some time you are and the it’s leaking and put a better service in place because the elderly depends on the bus ๐ŸšŒ because taxes are charging so much they cannot afford the fare we needed a better system in jutc bus because we needed it so bad the other way of travel we are woder over our lives travel with the taxes and the mini bus

  7. Over the yrs championship game as being a major event the stadium should make a safe keeping area for licenses firearm. That not hard to do are have them seated in a specific area.

  9. Good afternoon.
Portland is indeed a beautiful parish. But the people of the parish were terribly short sighted when they allowed, by way of their vote, one household exclusive political power. Mr. and Mrs. Portland, based on these regular news reports, seem not to be attending to any or very few of the needs/concerns/cries of their people. Issues range from poor roads and accompanying dust nuisance, irregular to no water supply, dilapidated health centre, no public access to the Blue Lagoon and now environmental hazard from the dump site which poses a health threat to the citizens of that community.

Politicians must, like any other employee work for and on behalf of the people. It can’t be that they hold the office, collect the full pay and enjoy all the perks and benefits yet refuse to do their job. Such actions are dishonest and an insult to the people. Have you noticed that when citizens voice their disgust and frustration the political representative is almost NEVER present to reassure or in any way appease the people? I find this to be a blatant disregard for the legitimate concerns of the people and a dereliction of their (politicians) duty!!

Since the goodly doctor’s violent death, the Vaz duo have gained political power in Portland. The least they can/ should do to show appreciation for the votes is make the parish an example for all the right reasons. How? By being accessible, responsive and visible by working for and on behalf of the people of the parish – not the reverse i.e being arrogant, M.I.A, nonperforming carpetbaggers!!
But perhaps I’m being a little too idealistic. Come next election they may very well win by a landslide and I’d have to shut my mouth….afterall this is Jamaica๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  10. Our civil servants are always trying to sink the country. The current personal income tax threshold is close to that of Canada and US. That’s reasonable. While we would all like a tax break, raising the threshold to $2 million now would result in tax increases elsewhere, spending cuts or derail us from reaching our 60% debt-to-GDP ratio. Whenever these union leaders demand raises or tax breaks, they need to explain how they expect the government to make up the revenue shortfall.

Also, the civil service just got a 20% raise over 3 years. Transparency International has been giving us a score of 44 for several years but, despite the fact that our civil service is more responsible for that failing grade in corruption than any other group, they’ve never even thought to take in upon themselves to improve our Transparency International score by 20%. They don’t care about Jamaica’s future. They don’t want to see Jamaica thrive. They only care about themselves. They are selfish.

  11. Stefanie is crazy if Jamaica security system was organised properly she couldn’t be talking about leaving firearm in motor vehicle .

  12. ๐Ÿ˜ why is it that EVERYTIME the people need to get money here they have to be a strike? Plus the operators have no conscience of their own like them want to take your eyes out your head.

  13. Polished i agree with you on everything you have said the road them in Portland is very dangerous and bad and the next election they are going to vote that same person in again I am from Portland โค

  14. Get a lawyer to hold the management company accountable to pay to clean up the peoples house and their health cost
