Reminds me of a movie I seen years ago that used sex toys virtually.
I know people kneejerk disapprove, but people always do that. There are many positive aspects to this. It doesn’t take long to think of them. Your partner is far away and you miss them so you can give a goodnight kiss to them. If your lover is stricken with something contagious you can still kiss them. When humanoid robots become a thing, being able to kiss them meaningfully will become important. And there is much more.
We will have more personal interaction in our lives, even when distant, we will have many more pandemics and will need human comfort while isolating, we will need humanoid robot help for our aging population (there are not enough young people), and we will form bonds of affection with those humanoid robots. Like it or don’t like it — this is what is coming.
