Giveme TheDaily trump openly stated and admitted he asked a foreign country to investigate the Bidens. Joe Biden is a current political rival. Those are the facts. If you say they are not, then you are calling trump a liar. Which is it?
And before you go off on me being a liberal and that sh!t, let me establish that I’m a Republican. I voted for trump. But now I see that he wants to bring the CEO company business model into the U.S. Government. He wants to cut through red tape and be the ONE person that can get things done.
You typed up a comment that implies you appear to be reasonable, so consider the downside of bringing in the CEO company model into a government. While you could argue that it does get things done faster and can bring about radical change in a fraction of the time, my guess is that you like it – but consider this: Is it possible that you like it bc the current agenda fits your world view?
You have to know that a CEO model in government is the foundation of a Dictatorship.
And since the agenda is to your liking, you don’t object. In fact, you find ways to justify it in order to keep your guy trump in the driver’s seat. I believe I’m being fair to your position as a fellow Republican.
But what you fail to see, is that this “hypocrisy” will eventually swing back in the opposite direction. And this is where I’m going to show you some tough love:
You allowing and encouraging trump’s abuse of power will come back to haunt you. Are you going to argue if Biden gets elected and he brings in Hunter to have top security clearance without having an extensive background check passed to gain access? You won’t say a word bc you’re ok with Ivanka. And Hunter’s girlfriend will have access as well for a time. Don’t say a word Giveme. Not one damn word.
Are you ok with Biden declaring a National Emergency against the will of the Senate so that he can divert military spending to fund a mandatory release of particular guns from the American people? Not a word giveme.
And you’ll not object when Biden tells his aides that he’s declaring another national emergency against the Senate’s vote, to redirect money from the military to fund and pay for the rapid construction of many Planned Parenthood facilities – and to just take the land from the citizens that own the land without judicial courts approval – and if you get arrested, I’ll pardon you. You’re ok with this giveme – not a damn word son.
The next thing Biden or the next President could do is force feed us socialism. I could go on for days listing sh!t trump has done (leaving Northern Syria and redeploying those troops to Saudi – damn – are you seeing this???) and letting the gate swing back the other direction.
The bottom line is this: If you give the Executive Branch too much leverage to bend and break the rules established by the Constitution, you are changing our government structure and it’s ability to corrupt. It will be the beginning of the end.
I’d like to see the Republicans take a stand against trump. Have him step down voluntarily and then start promoting Nikki Haley.
Many will say Haley is just as bad. I disagree. While Haley may have some similar views as trump, Haley respects the Constitution. She will not approach it as if it were a bunch of unnecessary red tape that needs to be subverted.
I no longer back trump. He doesn’t respect the office of the President and he doesn’t respect the Constitution that brings checks and balances to our government by design.
Do what you will. But when the Dems swing the gate the other way – don’t you dare say “these liberals are destroying our country!” You FOOL! NO! It’s you and the short sighted people that allowed trump to blow holes in our democracy! The blood of this nation will be on YOUR hands and the fools that allowed it.
Tough love over. Do what you will. It’s a free country….for now.
