Asking specfic questions in itself does not mean the questioner wants to advance the truth or is interested in accuracy. It depends on the intention of those questions.
For example, leading questions are design to prompt or encourage the answer a questioner wants, it does not indicate agreement from the person who answers . For instance,if the questioner asked the witness if he/she had any first hand knowledge of the call and the witness answers,’no’.That does not mean the witness agrees with questioner because the questioner is trying to suggest it confirms that no crime was committed. It simply means the witness is responding to a narrowly focused questìon that does not address the central premise that a crime may have been committed. Other witnesses can provide corroborating evidence to support the central premise. Furthermore, selective questioning can be used to paint a misleading picture of the circumstances surrounding a situation. However it does not change the facts. But a crafty questioner can create the impression that a witness agrees with his or her assertion.

Muellers was conducting an investigation, not testifying as a first hand witness to occurrences he was directly involved with. His job was to explain his findings and hand his report off for instances like this.

@Gerald Carron I didn’t say that he didn’t testify to Congress…I said he didn’t testify as a witness to the events that went down. He testified to the contents of his report and the details of it. It’s too bad he was so cautious, but he did his job and gave plenty of circumstantial evidence that can be used in a civilian court, for criminal proceedings…which is the point of impeachment.

@Travis he left the report with Congress…yeah he tried to keep to the contents because the guy has been a public servant for half a decade…He wanted to retire. Now that report can be used in a criminal trial, where it has more than adequate information to contribute to charges. I definitely wish he would have been more aggressive in his testimony, but I understand why he wasn’t.
