@SEFTO Paper ballots, vote in person, and count them that day is what I would love to see, …That would guarantee that everyone’s vote counted and they counted every vote for sure. Then at the end of the day the number of ballots must equal the number of people who entered to vote. . .
Let me do the math for Lake: she’s now behind Hobbs by say 25,000 (actually 26,000). There are 100,000 votes left to be counted. Lake first needs 25,000 (or 25% of 100,000) to be even with Hobbs. And to stay even, the remaining 75% must then be divided evenly among the two, or they must each get 37.5%. So for Lake to take over Gobbs, she must at least get 25+37.5 = 62.5% of the 100,000 votes left. But for Gobbs to keep the lead, she just needs to get 37.5% of the uncounted votes.
Bottom line:
Can Lake get 62.5% of the remaining 100,000 to win? Tough!
Can Hobbs get 37.5% of it to win? Very likely.

In Georgia, if the winner must get over %50, common sense would allow for a preference box on the ballet, whereby the voters put another selection, which is then counted as the voters choice, if his first choice is not in the first two places. This system does away with having to have another voting day. It would save a lot of money, and get the result much quicker. It is done with every seat in Australia, and it is common to see independents elected. It seems a no brainer to me.
Rank voting. Several successful democracies use it. Good idea but when you look at the 2000 election in Florida, it does make one wonder if the average Joe could understand how to fill out their ballot.

When ever there is a conflict in anything that we do, where we have ANY influence or control over it, there always exists the possibility of something untoward taking place. We generally excuse ourselves from the influential or controlling part of such things in order to AVOID the potential, actual….or THE IMPRESSION of wrong doing on our part.
Irrespective of whomsoever wins in AZ, the issue of Hobbs not excusing herself from the administration of an election in which she is herself a candidate stands out as something that is both morally and ethically reprehensible.
Not much chatter or pushback coming from the traditional media on this point…!

Lake didn’t narrow the vote differential. The order in which the votes are counted is what’s impacting the differential.
The northern counties did her in, she lost them to Robson in the primary by a wide margin.
