So let me get this right. Trump is allowed to ask for a special master from a judge he appointed.. putting this judge in the position of grant it because if not here comes the death threats to her entire family.. that’s insane when will this guy not be allowed to get away with stuff????

Trump said he had cooperated with the DOJ and NARA, when in fact he did no such thing and did all he could to hang onto the documents – how about dealing with that!
Trump said he would have given them back if only they had asked despite being asked for months and months ti return them – how about dealing with that!

It wasn’t just the CONTENT of the documents, rather, it was the combination of CONTENT and LOCATION that made possession of the documents criminally offensive. The fact that the attorneys so fundamentally misunderstand the legal issue at hand would be laughable if it weren’t so catastrophically incompetent. And the fact that they compound this incompetence by freely admitting to the illegality, in both the media and documents before the court, is an intellectually painful mixture of predictable and astounding. This is what believing oneself “above the law” looks like… and it is precisely why it is intolerable.

Having formally worked for a United States Intelligence agency both in the US and overseas, I can assure you that all the classified documents found must be considered to have been compromised. The intelligence services and DOJ would be working overtime to mitigate any possible damage which must be assumed to have happened. That will take months if not years of work and may even cost people’s lives. This is an absolutely shocking situation.
