  1. Ken Burns is our National Treasure; hard to believe it’s been 30-years since he premiered his masterpiece The Civil War.

  2. I just saw a snippet of one show so far . It was Hank Williams singing ” 6 More Miles to the Graveyard ” ,   which happens to be my favourite Hank Williams song .

  3. I want to respect America again. It was never perfect and will never be but this era…beginning with Donald Trump…is a low point.

    1. @claire bigelow It’s the right place and the right time…with proper and accurate insight. I’ll be here all right Claire…and many places besides.

    1. Is it someone forcing you to listen to it?
It must be, I hope you don’t listen day in and day out by your self?

If you think it’s boring, try to spice it up, have you heard Home Free? It’s an A Capella group doing country. No instrument, just the sound of it from their beatboxer.

  4. First country son I heard, I’ll never forget it. Leann Rimes – Blue. Thanks to my Nana Shirley. RIP. Best thing about being biracial. Your exposed to country and city folks in the best of ways and loved equally just the same

  5. Hip hop and rap music diversify and you can see every shade of colour participating while country music remain unchanged which tells us white folks were never welcoming people

  6. and yet, the genius and genuineness of country/bluegrass and folk has degenerated to the junk that is on the radio today

  7. Country music is filled with criminality, Unionists, Confederates, Lesbians , Homosexuals , Bisexuals, Drug addicts, greed, Pill Poppers, Alcoholics, Religious heretics , And all the things that make Americans real. Can’t wait to see this.

  8. Country music, when it was Country Western, was able to join all generations and branches of my family. Blue Grass lovers, Ragtime, Jazz, Blues, and Rock & Roll lovers could all settle into conversations and games and even dancing during reunions when Country Western was played. Looking forward to seeing Burns’ historical view!

  9. im really enjoying this series on PBS…loved the one on Hank Williams…who i just adore….Bravo to Ken Burns !!! this series is a Masterpiece !!!!

  10. Maybe this will inspire people to play real music, write honest and well structured songs. Maybe it will re-enforce respect, and dignity to song writing. What we have going on now, is sterilized and vacuous.
