@Beverley Smith but you cannot blame them as much.. I mean, elderly have such all incomes that are less than the weekly cost of helper sometimes for the whole month.. can they truly afford the cost of stuff when bread doubled in price in two years, as has chicken yet they have only 3% rise

So much correct here in your statement.
I see the wharf costs as stifling. We need the amount changed for easy simple cost from 50 USD to 150 USD for most goods through MailPac and it’s competitors and we need the agricultural minister to allow sealed prepackaged seeds, and other agricultural products for gardens and farms to be reduced in taxes along with anything solar including the battery systems and repair components. Plus we need reduced import rates and a clearer system for importing tractors, farm implements, two wheel tractors, and other garden tools to allow us to buy used gear in the USA or Brazil or buy new from Korea, China, and the Phillipines.
@Brother Adam Most definitely, wharf customs duties are significantly high. The importing of farming equipment and related products, should be reduced to enable and facilitate agricultural productivity, as we have no food security.
But the focus appears to be the development of Tourism by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with overseas investors/ private sector and road development to support the industry.
Charitable goods which come under the Ministry of finance, should also be imported into the country with ease, without the large customs duties being imposed.
If we experience high inflation globally no one will be able to afford to fly to Jamaica and we will all be hungry, as fuel prices increase and the price of our food imports increases beyond our affordability.
