Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw slammed law enforcement's response to the Uvalde school shooting in a hearing before the Texas Senate.

Multiple police officers stood in a school hallway armed with rifles and at least one ballistic shield within 19 minutes of a gunman arriving at the campus in Uvalde, Texas, according to documents reviewed by the American-Statesman, further raising questions whether any lives could have been saved during the deadly attack.
Even as officers with high-powered weapons and ballistic shields massed inside the blue and green hallway, the gunman could be heard firing rounds — including at 12:21 p.m., 29 minutes before officers entered the classroom and killed him, the documents show.
Investigators say the latest information indicates officers had more than enough firepower and protection to take down the gunman long before they finally did. The massacre killed 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School.

Both sides are great at guarding and defending oil fields. Too bad they can’t protect the people of the United Sates….
No lie was told in this statement.
Let’s see Steve McGraw respond to an active shooter. I’ll wait here.
Does steve walk around with a gun and body armor?
Stupid, STUPID comment. Those guards were armed & were wearing body armor. They may as well have stayed home.
@Cardioligist oh good Lord. Please read my last comment.
Yet supports no punishment
“Yes!! Give up your weapons the police and politicians will keep you safe!!”
I call BS on that statement.
Where was that statement???
Someone didn’t take their medication today!
So sad 😭
Shooter was groomed
The training police receive in a large portion of the country is a joke.
They should train more and prioritize ex-military over average joes.
That’s so bad. This seems sadly increasingly typical of almost everything touched by some state and federal organizations.
