Correction : Kashmir is not claimed by both India and Pakistan it IS and has been a sovereign part of India.
The special status granted to kashmir was granted to it by the power of Indian constitution which have now been revoked. Indian government pays billions of the taxpayers money each year for the welfare of kashmir, people thier carry and Indian passport.
Pakistan has just occupied a part of kashmir which they have no claim over since independence. And India has been generous enough to not go on an offensive to claim back it’s territory. Which has led to all this conflict and confusion.
Its cause our INDIAN soldiers are dying there..
