Richard Branson became the first person to ride into space aboard a rocket he helped fund. The supersonic space plane developed by his company, Virgin Galactic, roared into the sky over New Mexico early Sunday, carrying Branson and three fellow crewmembers.
Branson -— along with Virgin Galactic employees Beth Moses, Colin Bennett, and Sirisha Bandla and pilots Dave Mackay and Michael Masucci — boarded the SpaceShipTwo, a winged plane with a single rocket motor that the company has spent nearly two decades developing, before the crack of dawn. Attached beneath its massive, twin-fuselaged mothership, dubbed WhiteKnightTwo, the vehicle took to the skies at 8:30 am MT and climbed to about 50,000 feet in the air.

Can we send trump on one of those, but never would return ?
@🎯Dart 180🕸🎯 yes it does, bit like tRump Tower Moscow.. oh wait sssshhhh. Shouldn’t mention that as Putin may get angry that he lost out on the $50 million backhander deal.
Whose gonna build the spaceship?
@Islndstyles if tRumps on it and it’s a 1 way trip this would raise billions overnight with a GoFundMe option.
@🎯Dart 180🕸🎯 Red wave in Georgia? Oh…did Georgia flip ? Oops
@xAlpaca Zeu Georgia on camera counting votes from under the table after they sent the observers home
I can think of a few billionaires I’d like to see blasted into space…
@Charles A Smith hella yeah
I hope Jeff Balzo never come back down
What will he do next? Eh, what about the world of taxidermy or the fish carving championships for a change ?
Bone spur l 😆 🤣 😂
Commercial flight cost $250k😁😂
Well, I saw curvature. Take a hike flat earthers.
@lhcsmith2 no, of course not, silly! there is zorgtot in the galaxy fresda, which is dihedral, 3 flatties in the mehttot group-2 west of adromeda, all of which are tetra-rotational diamonds, and of course the mamouth cluster in cyngus x-5 galaxies, which are oval-globules of the Hendrix-Franklin variety. as our grandpa says: “come on, man”!!!
@Tom Tom It doesnt break because of the flex-seal. the water runs over the edge into a big skimmer and is recirculated with big pumps controlled by the satellites that are in ‘flat-o-synchronous circular orbits’ that run parallel to the earths flat surface, silly.
@Keith Johnson – Shelby GT500 I didn’t know they graduated from Trump Uni
@jeff giddens Show us the FE model TO SCALE
“We know the earth is not flat, because cats would have already pushed everything over the edge.”
See kids. The earth is round.
Next…….. Bigfoot
The Earth is round.
@Human -NPC good job. Now say…. Bigfoot
“Richard Branson became the first person to ride into space aboard a rocket he helped fund.”
well, that’s only true if none of our astronauts were paying taxes.
“The good news about Jesus Christ! And the untold secret that many do NOT know about Christians.”
(Luke 15:7)- “there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!
(Explanation: did you know that there will be just as much joy in heaven for a gang member or prostitute or drug dealer, etc who turned their life around as much as a person who was a perfectly good Christian their whole entire lives? It’s true!
(2 Peter 3:9)- “He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
(Explanation: God Does NOT want to punish teen parents, or gang members or prostitutes, gossips, bullies, etc, What makes Him happy is to see such individuals turn their lives around for the better and prove all doubters and critics wrong! That’s it.
(The untold secret about Christians)-
Did you know that A fair percentage of True Christians are actually FORMER gang members, or former drug dealers, former bullies, former teen parents, former prison inmates, etc? people who did bad things in their past and were desperate for a life change. So they turned their lives to Jesus Christ and the Bible. And it worked out well for them! Jesus Christ is wonderfully accepting!
That is who we really are, not “holier than thou people.”
Version 4.0
They made it to 82 km and space starts after the “Karman” line at about 100 km. They didn’t go into space.🤦♂️👎🌌🚀
@Priest Fulton J Wingba JR
Your god failed.
Prove me wrong.
Not exactly military… But the X-15 went higher.
@Priest Fulton J Wingba JR Will you bugger off with your bronze age fantasies. This is science and engineering at its best.
Hopefully the human race will grow out of such superstitions, sooner than later.
Couldn’t happen for a better guy
Richard Branson: “After my last trip to the US, I shared my views on the presidential election. Having just completed another visit to Boston, Dallas and Miami, I wanted to share a previous encounter I had with Donald Trump.
Some years ago, Mr Trump invited me to lunch for a one-to-one meeting at his apartment in Manhattan. We had not met before and I accepted. Even before the starters arrived he began telling me about how he had asked a number of people for help after his latest bankruptcy and how five of them were unwilling to help. He told me he was going to spend the rest of his life destroying these five people.
He didn’t speak about anything else and I found it very bizarre. I told him I didn’t think it was the best way of spending his life. I said it was going to eat him up, and do more damage to him than them. There must be more constructive ways to spend the rest of your life. (Hopefully my advice didn’t lead to him running for President!)
I was baffled why he had invited me to lunch solely to tell me this. For a moment, I even wondered if he was going to ask me for financial help. If he had, I would have become the sixth person on his list!
I left the lunch feeling disturbed and saddened by what I’d heard. There are a lot of frightening things about this election; not least that policy has been pushed so far down the agenda. What concerns me most, based upon my personal experiences with Donald Trump, is his vindictive streak, which could be so dangerous if he got into the White House. For somebody who is running to be the leader of the free world to be so wrapped up in himself, rather than concerned with global issues, is very worrying.
Later, I remember contrasting the lunch with a one-to-one lunch I shared with Hillary Clinton. Here we talked about education reform, the war on drugs, women’s rights, conflicts around the globe and the death penalty. She was a good listener as well as an eloquent speaker. As she understands well, the President of the United States needs to understand and be engaged with wider world issues, rather than be consumed by petty personal quarrels.”
@Jacob Calham Still using terms you don’t understand? Obviously, you _do_ think you’ll succeed in gaslighting me, lol you’ll be as successful as trump winning 2020.
With or without Fauci’s ignored advice, trump was recorded as knowing the virus was deadly and he admitted lying to Americans and last time I checked, Fauci wasn’t president in 2020, so lob these dumb excuses at someone else, the buck stopped with trump.
@Concrete Lightbulb Change the record chum we have already heard this. I am trying to learn some new kernels of truth here.
@Colonel OfTruth We changed the record from 4 years of non-stop “TRUMP 2020!!! LIBS WILL DROWN IN THEIR OWN TEARS!!!” to …yo, he lost, get over it snowflakes. You psyched yourselves out and now it’s time to move on.
@Mark Warren I am sure this is much more common than known.
This behavior is most definitely not related to ideology.
Thank you for sharing this…
He’s not a virgin anymore.
Thank god someone said it .
Lol 😆 yes 👍
XD LMFAO
@Priest Fulton J Wingba JR (Dinner 5:15) teach a man to fish, turn water into wine. Seared Ahi Tuna and Chardonnay for 30 pieces of silver for Chef Judas.
What about the poor atmosphere that’s being polluted with the by product of this spent burnt rocket fuel.
It’s almost entirely water vapor. And it puts out nothing compared to the cars we drive or the wastefulness of industrial use in Asia. Stop trying to sound more intelligent than a parrot
That’s the rocket you wish you could ride when this planet dies
Now let’s put Dolt 45 in one of those and point it at the sun.
pricelessssssss
wait wait let me out the campaign funding letters
The sun will be sooo gas lit…
Sadly, this ship can’t make it to the sun.
He will stare directly into it the whole ride
“Release Release Release”. Lots of people in DevOps would be cracking that in the next few weeks.
Richard Branson is one of the few billionaires I respect.
There’s another one in the U.S. but I forget his name.
I’m sorry
🙁
Elon Musk?
He’s the man behind Space-X and Tesla.
Maybe Wozniak or Warren Buffett? He seems to be more concerned with others over sply making millions. I’ve only met one billionaire (that I know–one of Apple’s founders), and he seemed like such a nice, humble easy-going guy.
@Q. E. D. Musk doesn’t come across as the most humble person, at least not to me. He paints himself as having a bit of arrogance.
I don’t like the line being drawn between having money and getting to space, but I have no money, so I won’t be going to space and anyone could care less what I have to say.
True no one cares
People without money have been sent into space for 60 years.
He didn’t go into space. He went into the very thinnest parts of earth’s atmosphere for a few minutes and he plans to charge people several hundred thousand dollars a piece to do the same. Meanwhile, Starship holds potential to get the cost of getting TO ACTUAL ORBIT for less than $10,000 a person within a decade. I don’t think virgin galactic will have more than a few hundred customers, if that. Blue Origin’s stupid suborbital joyride probably won’t get much business either when there’s a cheaper orbital alternative. Getting to space will never be free, but it’s fixing to become a lot more affordable and at a certain price point, most people with a strong desire will be capable of getting to space.
@Martin Nilsson Beautiful comment. lol
starting to look like the movie Elysium.
I wonder what the carbon footprint is for this wealthy folks amusement and thrill ride. They want to make this a tourism ride for the obscenely wealthy. It would be interesting to find out what the footprint is for this ride vs the average persons yearly amount. Maybe it would be a damn disgrace to do this just because you can. We will see.
Who gave us that term?
“Carbon footprint”…..
Ever wonder?
@Cliff Baxter nope, I can intuitively realize that the amount of pollution created by this thing would be an interesting comparison to the amount produced by an average human being in their lifetime.
An example could be that an F18 fighter uses more fuel in one short mission than the average driver in 1 year. Just a better, more relevant method of helping to understand these things.
Rich people want to leave earth after they’ve help ruin it.
I’m actually happy for him and crew, that it all went so well. I’m also pleased thinking about Jeff Bezos throwing a cry-baby tantrum somewhere because I’m pretty sure he did just that, if the salty-teared Blue Origin tweets are any indication.
You think Jeff was hoping they’d die??
lol “Man makes so much money he has to fire himself into space…”
People standing in line at the food bank will love this story.
These the same globalist elites that destroyed Trump
A publicity stunt but also historically meaningful? Kinda sounds like Evel Knieval’s jump over Snake River.
Now the Sporadic weather starts.
Both
A 21st Century, Rich-man’s carnival ride…
1st question should be:
So, Richard…flat Earth; yes or no?
The answer won’t matter to flat-earthers: they’ll claim it’s all cgi.
