MN Governor: Chauvin Verdict Gives ‘Momentum’ To Legislative Police Reforms | The Last Word | MSNBC
Why is it so hard to reform the police?? I mean come on! We, the citizens, own them!! If they don’t want to change, they need to pack up and leave, so we can put better people in there!
It’s sad that it took a year of national protests and an actual video to get justice. And even then, it was still in doubt.
@RMPsumma I sat thru the trial here on YouTube with a live chat feed. Trust me there are a lot of people that thought Chauvin did the right thing and should not have been found guilty of anything. I assure you I am not among them. As far as I am concerned an attack on one is an attack on all. And since LEO take oaths, this should have been prosecuted as capital treason!
@Ygritte Snow You watched the entire trial? Ooo-kay. And after watching it, you come up with “capital treason?” My YouTube is enlightening! Who knew?
@Cookie Cutter But you did, didn’t you? Too funny. That’s what being triggered does to you (sorry. I meant “u”). 😂😎😂😎😂😎
@RMPsumma Yup, sat through various motions, jury selection, prosecution, defense, opening arguments, closing arguments and verdict. Treason by definition is anyone owing an oath who declares war on America or gives aid and comfort to an enemy. As I said an attack on one is an attack on all. Pretty sure those that go to war don’t actually say “declare war”. That is usually done by an action. This was a police officer. An individual acting in representation of the government. Yes I would call that treason.
@Ygritte Snow Wow! And you appear to be serious! Why don’t we add the charge of “subversive mug shot stubble” ?
I love our Govenor he tries hard with our state for reform. I hope that we can make a better police force. We need to put them under even a tougher microscope! They now know they can and will be held accountable.
He seems very cool – I’m glad you guys have him. I love that he seems so open to learning and evolving.
His 24yr career in the Army National Guard has been evident in the way he’s handled the last 15months. I’m glad we put him in the Governor’s office in 2019!
if Hennepin county prosecutors had tried this case that man would’ve been at home drinking at a party right now
Chauvin is lucky to get a trial and jury, Goerge didn’t get this chance!RIP Goerge Floyd 🌷💚!
@Raging Monk Jury of 12 says otherwise. Or don’t you trust judicial due process? Guilty of 2nd degree unintentional murder, guilty of 3rd degree murder, guilty of 3rd degree manslaughter. Guess Chauvin is about to see life from the other side of the cuffs and bars.
@Raging Monk What makes you an expert?
Your self-assessment to being as smart as Moby Trump?
thank you!!
@Raging Monk U wish. Chauvin convicted murderer
@Ygritte Snow No, in this case I don’t trust the judicial process. Trial should have never been held in the city. Should have been moved. Jury knows full well if they don’t convict the city will be burned to the ground by criminals.
Its remarkable how increasingly different the realities of race are in America than in Canada. I do not see how this verdict is an example of mob rule or how justice was not served. I do not think a Canadian jury would have deliberated even that long before convicting on all counts.
Just getting to listen to American news today in Italy (am American). From your comment I infer that someone has called the guilty verdict the result of mob rule and unjust. Extremely upsetting to read this. I hope it wasn’t a white American politician, although I suspect it was.
@Elena Latici Unfortunately yes. Far too many comments like that. There were a few white and black commentators taking this position. Candace Owen being one.
Are you forgetting about how Native people are treated here in Canada?
@Octagon Seventynine No. My aunt is Ojibway. The Indian Act is Canada’s dark stain. I am specifically commenting on the seemingly sizable amount of Americans who consider this jury verdict a result of mob rule rather than criminal justice.
End Qualified Immunity..! All the dirty cops can flock to Kentucky and Florida
Florida just made it a crime to protest. Perfect place for dirty cops!
💁🏼♀️📱Darnella proved courage to video criminal policing.. brings undeniable accountability!
Just like how Derek Chauvin got his just deserts so will Margerie Taylor Greene, Jim Jordan, and Brian Kemp
Yes it has been written!
And Boebert and the rest of the insurrection caucus.
Every state has a George Floyd. May every state also have a Chauvin trial, Then we may truly begin to make the necessary progress.
*AS A EUROPEAN* I am hardly ever impressed with an American politician – but this guy was good, sensible, humane, willing to admit the hard truths, able to see his own privilege…
This man is speaking wisely. Love the compassion these men are showing….so let’s get to work 😉❤️✝️☮️
Contrast with the nutty white suprematists in congress
Minnesot Gov. Tim Walz. Thank You.!! God Bless.
Thank you Governor! The last year and a half has been tough, and I’m always comforted knowing it’s you at the helm. But still a lot of work to do, keep your stick on the ice!
Gov. Waltz you’re an ally because you listen and keep yourself accountable. Respect.
I hope this heroic girl gets a small share of $ 20 million
One of the best interviews I’ve seen 👍👍👍👍
Gov. Tim Walz, we hear you and I love all you had to say!!!!
A Tribute in Memory of Mr. George Floyd
Don’t close the door please let the light shine in.
Whispering sounds that echo off the walls.
Straps laced too tightly no room for me to move.
A blinding glance confuses me.
Words can’t express the pain of false bravado.
Piercing stares from the tormented few.
All sides suffering
Can’t take this life no more.
Nothing to chance for a man to break free.
I only need one eye to be open.
One ear to listen to what I’m trying to say.
Just take a moment to come inside and stand with me.
Everyday’s a nightmare
I need someone to come save me.
As I lay distressed pleading please help me mama.
I see no beacon my life’s growing dim.
Robbed of tomorrow can’t help those who were chosen.
It’s up to you where we go from here.
If I could rise I’d speak up for my freedom with every breath I take that God has given me.
Come take a chance and take a stand in harmony.
There will be no tomorrow if we don’t unite to be free.
The violence that follows will only fuel their hate.
Take the path that carries your voice of change.
Let’s lay to rest and and put an end to this shame.
Be the hope your children need you to be.
If I could rise I’d speak up for my freedom with every breath I take that God has given me.
Come take a chance and take a stand in harmony.
Everyday’s a nightmare I need someone to come stand for me.
There will be no tomorrow if we don’t unite to be free.
Rest in Peace Mr. George Floyd
