The American First Committee opposed any involvement in World War II. During the 30s and 40s, anti-Jewish literature and pamphlets were readily available. America is often referred to as a melting pot of people from all over the world, and we even brag about it, but there has always been resentment for people coming into this country that were not of British descent. This country also had a very defined caste system. The biggest fear has stemmed from immigrants who choose not to integrate within society. Those who cling to their traditions form their own communities, preferring to speak their native language and retain customs of the countries they left because of authoritarian rule that often resulted in terrorism, mass killings and war. Many of these immigrants do not want their children going to American public schools for fear that their children will embrace a culture they disapprove of. Such people want to live in America because of our democracy but choose not to adapt to American traditions and culture causing suspicion and unfortunately hatred for an endless variety of reasons. This has been going on for generations and will continue. But hatred is a two-sided sword. There are immigrants living in this country who hate Americans and consider American lifestyle as evil. A very difficult situation….

WASPs and White Supremacists are not the same thing. WASP describes non-Catholic Christian whites from Western Europe. White Supremacist simply describes someone who thinks whites are superior. There is some overlap between the two groups but it’s unfair to use the two terms interchangeably. Not all white people are racists, same as not all black people are racists, same as not all Asian people are racists.
