Jury selection is scheduled to resume Thursday morning in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the May 2020 killing of George Floyd, a Black man. The incident sparked protests worldwide. Two more jurors were chosen Wednesday, replacing two who were cut because they said they couldn't be impartial after hearing about the city's historic $27 million settlement with Floyd's family.
RELATED:
The court, for hours, heard from more potential jurors, with both Chauvin's attorney and prosecutors questioning them about their knowledge of the case, the protests and Floyd's death. Jurors faced a battery of questions about whether they could set aside any existing opinions to serve impartially.

Hello Sandra
Agree, I wish Floyd could have / would have gotten help for his drug problem
Justice for Chauvin
@redreed77 I don’t he was a HORRIBLE person
@redreed77 and whos fault that was?
Innocent!!!!!!!!
It takes along time to select jury members for this kinda trial I guess
a long; two words
There are numerous studies showing placing people in the prone position helps them to breathe they have used it with Covid patients to help them breathe. Also if they are trying to say it’s an anxiety response then the officers are innocent, which they are.
Punishment will never be enough……..they will still burn the cities for this reason for opportunistic reasons ………Floyd’s OD has nothing to do with this theatre
I have a great respect for this system to use every available means to try and insure an impartial or objective jury.
You can’t choke someone by kneeling on the back of their neck because there’s a spine in between your knee and their esophagus
Yes…But the masses don’t care about facts, science, or anatomy….most can’t even read.
Jury selection should include a basic comprehensive test.
They should diversify the jury.
Why bother with a jury selection… the outcome of the trial was secured the day Minneapolis paid the blackmail money to the family.
A nine time prisoner didn’t have the scruples to leave the scene of a crime. Had he not been so dumb and drove off before the cops came, then he would still be alive causing his community major distress by selling drugs to them and burglarizing them
The presumption of innocence has been eliminated by the video. Chauvin was on the guy’s back and neck. Now will his lawyers by their words levitate Chauvin off George Floyd’s body? Where’s David Copperfield when needed? Chauvin had a rile in Mr. Floyd’s death. Discuss.
Free the Mpls 4!
Why not just use holograms for a jury?
Deliberating of fake story on all possible ways and having No idea and even common interest in truth, what a truth is covered behind it? This man, officer is certainly innocent, probably whistleblower of unknown corrupt scandal.
DEFENSE TIP—>>>>Eric Nelson (Defense) needs to go further when he asks his routine question to potential jurors about Protests vs. Riots. He needs to follow up and ask them if blocking an Interstate Highway is a peaceful protest. Then he needs to ask them if those protesters are breaking any law and also if those protesters are putting lives in danger.
Can’t watch this 💩💩💩
He should be given a medal.
and all this happened because he was Black… moving on
