Pentagon fires back after Tucker Carlson mocks women in armed forces

In an extraordinary rebuke, the Pentagon and several senior members of the US military called out Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Thursday for a sexist segment in which he mocked women serving in the armed forces.
Carlson, who is effectively the face of Fox and hosts the top show on the right-wing channel, ridiculed President Joe Biden Tuesday for saying that the US military had created uniforms to fit women properly, created maternity flight suits for those who are pregnant, and updated requirements for hairstyles.
"So we've got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits," Carlson snarked. "Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It's a mockery of the US military."
Carlson's comments have prompted severe backlash from some of the most senior members of the US military who took to Twitter on Wednesday and Thursday to call Carlson out for what they described as harmful and divisive rhetoric.

    1. Funny Facts about CNN :

-CNN considers itself a legitimate news organization that is politically unbiased with an extreme eye toward accurate news reporting without opinion or favor. They also said that it depends on how you define “unbiased”.

-CNN claims their Reporters are fastidious in not editorializing their news reporting to a point of obsession despite the temptation of increasing ratings . CNN said that proof of this claim is it’s extremely low ratings .

-CNN claims they clearly delineate between their journalists and the opinion guests on each and every show with a clear balance of guests from all political persuasions so there is never any confusion as to who are the journalists vs opinion makers even though they strongly recommend that their viewers use a GPS device to locate a journalist ( in the truest sense of the word) on any of their shows .

-CNN ratings are down by 99% because of Airport lockdowns this past year.🔄📶📶3️⃣3️⃣

    5. Your insane, he said one pow was not a hero, and for your information most of the men he was pow with said the same thing, you people will twist everything

    1. @Jason Puskar um, that’s kind of against freedom of speech and freedom of the press, soooo if you support that, then you support taking away those rights, which is…you know…anti-American. 😏

    2. @King Creed You may want to look up freedom of speech and freedom of press in the dictionary before you shed more light on your ignorance and arrogance.

    3. “You cannot fight racism with racism.”
—Bobby Seale, 83, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, political activist, community organizer, gun rights advocate for Black Americans , author and lecturer.

Bobby Seale is acknowledging that the accusation of white privilege is a form of racism when you use it to judge an entire race based on skin color and not on the content of each individual’s character. Now where have we heard that before?

    1. Can’t help but notice that “hating women” is currently defined as anything shy of 100% support. Even the military is forced to pander and flash that virtue. But i get it. The army wouldn’t want to risk being cancelled.

  2. Don’t care what’s in your flight Suit just that you love the job you do. Thank you for serving our Country

    1. They are now fighting for a country that has the military going after a cable show host for his opinion, that’s an authoritarian country they fight for.

    2. @Taylor Johns it’s not about them flying, it’s about them being able to wear a uniform that they have earned through their service. Shouldn’t Americans be proud of the fact that there’s pregnant women that feel so strongly about their affiliation with the military that they want to wear the uniform to show it?

    3. @Vaquero Líquido Why do pregnant women need flight suits? This isn’t a government program to validate people.

    4. The military dosent care either. Women pass military test at a rate of 65 percent. They promised to dum it down to bring that number up. Then they can open up a planned parenthood branch and prioritize the combat badasses

    5. @Vaquero Líquido Your statement is just idiotic, the uniform is for pilots, that means they want them to fly a jet while wearing those. They are not getting maternity leave like they should be, instead the military is risking lives. Women can have a miscarriage due to stress, and as you can imagine flying a jet in combat can be QUITE STRESSFULL.

  3. My sister, a West Point graduate and retired general, served in three combat zones: Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. She is an amazing person with an awful lot to contribute to this world. Tucker Carlson isn’t fit to shine her shoes.

    1. New York Times / 3/20/21: Where Europe Went Wrong in Its Vaccine Rollout, [and Why Trump Administration’s Warp Speed won the day.’]

The calls began in December, as the United States prepared to administer its first batches of Covid-19 vaccine. Even then, it was clear that the European Union was a few weeks behind, and its leaders wanted to know what they could learn from their American counterparts.

The questions were the same, from President Emmanuel Macron of France, President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission, and Alexander De Croo, the prime minister of Belgium.

“How did you do it?” Dr. Moncef Slaoui, the Trump Administration’s vaccine czar, recalled them asking on the calls. “And what do you think we missed?”

Since then, the rollout gap between Europe and the United States has only widened, and some of the countries hardest hit early in the pandemic are facing a deadly third wave of infections. France, large parts of Italy, and other regions are back in lockdown. Roughly 20,000 Europeans die of Covid-19 each week.

Brussels, by comparison, took a conservative, budget-conscious approach that left the open market largely untouched. And it has paid for it.

In short, the answer today is the same as it was in December, said Dr. Slaoui. The bloc shopped for vaccines like a customer. The United States basically went into business with the drugmakers, spending much more heavily to accelerate vaccine development, testing and production.

“They assumed that simply contracting to acquire doses would be enough,” recalled Dr. Slaoui, whom President Donald J. Trump hired to speed the vaccine development. “In fact what was very important was to be a full, active partner in the development and the manufacturing of the vaccine. And to do so very early.”

      ‘Not Equipped for a Gunfight’
The European Union trailed the United States and Britain from the start.

Washington had already spent billions on clinical trials and manufacturing by the time Europe decided to pool its resources and negotiate as a bloc. In mid-June, the European Commission, the bloc’s executive branch, announced a joint vaccine purchase with a $3.2 billion pot.

In Washington, Operation Warp Speed, the Trump administration’s vaccine program, had a $10 billion budget. European officials say it’s unfair to compare the two figures because neither amount is a complete picture of all the money spent on vaccines. But there is no dispute that in Washington, officials had decided that money was no object if vaccines could avert the economic cost of a lockdown. Europe, on the other hand, was on a tight budget, so its negotiators chased cheaper doses.

“Pricing has been important since the beginning,” Sandra Gallina, the E.U.’s main vaccine negotiator, told lawmakers in February. “We are talking about taxpayers’ money.”

    2. @Andrew Rosenthal It’s Alright to say “Black People”. In fact, I’d prefer that to “b___k”. First, I never said Black people weren’t in the military. The message was that while we were there, we were victimized, subjugated and discriminated against. The research used to compile this data is not only committed to the historical record but it is affirmed by my own life and the life of my family both immediate and distant. Some of the people being fire hosed in Alabama by the Alabama Police in the ’60’s archived video were my ACTUAL family members. My ACTUAL family members served in Vietnam and world war II. We know a lot about institutionalized discrimination first hand, sir. This is not even the point. I know that Tucker’s statements are taken out of context to some degree. My point is that until he qualifies the statements he made against how they were received, there is going to be unnecessary discrepancy. In my opinion he should just say that he supports women in the military and that he recognizes and appreciates their service. This alone will speak volumes towards resolving the misunderstanding. I don’t think he’s done that yet, has he?

    3. @Rodney Truitt

No I can’t. YouTube will delete my comment if I don’t write it like that.

Those are anecdotal incidents. You said that b—ks were discriminated by the military as a way of saying thats why inclusion in the military is good. No, they weren’t. B—ks were allowed in the military. Being discriminated against would be if they weren’t allowed in at all.

Those incidents do not prove systemic country wide racism or discrimination. I don’t even know the details of that specific situation but I almost guarantee you that if I researched more into it there is a lot more to it then just racist police officers doing that to completely innocent b—k people just because of the color of their skin. When other people have described incidents like they to me and then I look them are there are tons of details the person left out which, when included, completely change the narrative.

Bottom line, this doesn’t show country wide systemic large widespread racism. One incident happening to people doesn’t show that.

He did say he supports women in the military you just won’t accept him saying that regardless of how he says it.

    4. @Andrew Rosenthal
Brother, firstly it’s sick to me that I can type “Black People” and you can’t without being penalized.. that’s a topic for another day. Next, my mind certainly would be changed if Tucker accepted responsibility for the confusion of the moment by giving the people who are negatively affected by his statement the chance to hear him qualify that statement which would show his solidarity for the women in military. Lastly and most importantly, it makes sense to me that you wouldn’t be aware directly by experience of being the direct victim the kind of racial discrimination that happened (is happening) in the US and in the military. These occurrences are not “one-offs”, sir. It would take days for me to tell you about first hand, very real accounts of the precise systematic, institutionalized racism that we’re talking about in the military or in civilian life against people of color..(my people specifically) and even then, I’m not sure that you would totally grasp the depth of what I’m saying. Certainly not because you lack the intelligence, capacity or compassion, but because your experiences and therefore your reactions (verbal or otherwise) are not the same as the people who have had such experiences. You strike me as a passionate, reasonable human being. As such I wish I had an opportunity to walk you through a living perspective of US history; that is, from the mouths of the people beyond (and including) myself who’ve lived through racial subjugation…I suspect you have not encountered that yet. I do appreciate that you are willing to have dialogue about it which to me is an important step to bridge the gap between conjecture and supposition, verses actual experience and realistic resolution.

    5. @Rodney Truitt again, discrimination as you used it (talking about inclusion) would mean they wouldn’t be allowed in at all.

It’s not even about being one off instances. When something is systemic there are rules in an organization that directly discriminate against a group of people. It’s not about the specific instances. It’s about the organization’s official rules that directly say certain groups can’t do certain things specifically and only because they belong to a certain group. Do you have a rule like that the military had against specific groups of people? That’s what systemic racism is. Also why systemic racism doesn’t exist in the us today. You can’t name me any specific racist law that governs the entire population.

Tucker did say that he supports women in the military. Watch his response to the pentagon.

    1. 1 case does not an argument make. How many heroic stories of men fighting wars could be told. There’s a reason 99.99% of combatants are men. It biology not discrimination.

    1. @bill toal Truth makes liberals angry Lies make Conservatives angry. We’re all born liberals: helpless, dependent on everyone else for our survival, completely useless, crapping our pants constantly and expecting someone else to clean up our mess.
I became Conservative at about age 22 when I started my first enterprise. I saw how weak, backward looking and needy liberals are. That change allowed me to succeed in business and life.

    1. @Ivy Breaux Have you ever sat down and watched Tucker? At least I’m here watching what mainstream media are saying…. it’s good to get 2 sides of story.

    2. @Ben B But you don’t have the other side of the story because you’re still here parroting tucker even though you’re dead wrong and both of you obviously don’t know anything about the military.

    4. @BackWoodsChef There’s no extra costs genius. Do you know how many times the military uniforms have changed 🤔 On top of that we pay for our own uniforms.

    1. @Soupy Anderson oh.. for quite a few people now means ending something. I had fed a kid today so I guess I ended child hunger.

    1. @Mason Lee “Ooh, ooh, ohh, ohh, I got it Mister Kotter!” There is no such thing as ‘feminizing’ the military. It just a made up term by numbskulls like Tucker to talk about on his show, to strike fear in the viewer. Come on Mason Lee, turn that fear in to outrage. We know you can.

    2. @Mason Lee exactly!!! Tucker is actually doing his job and he is doing amazing on reporting the truth something you don’t see to much lately especially on FAKE 🤥 CNN

    3. @Eli Rodriguez Tucker telling the truth yet forgets to mention the modified flight suit came into existence under Trump.

  4. If is so proud of the the Chinese military he should move to China and see how much of his worthless rhetoric he can get away with.

  5. Our enemies are in stitches.
