  1. Yes yes yes!!! Barbara Jordan I grew up watching her on TV oh my goodness the woman used words that I have never heard before in my life and had to look them up she was so eloquent and her speeches she was absolutely amazing And as far as I’m concerned here in the state of Texas the lady was a Pioneer and politics as a black woman pushing forward she does not get enough recognition this is the first time I have heard her name and amongst all of the others that they claimed her so great and yet Barbara Jordan is constantly overlooked and I think that is very disappointing hooray somebody finally talked about Barbara Jordan by the way I am a white male 64 years old thank God for my mother cuz my father was an absolute racist my mother protected me from that and I praise her for that

    1. @Ro G Yea, but what coverage does it get? That is my point. Black History Month is everywhere. But Native American history gets far less coverage.

    2. @MrBlockice22 Here in Alaska, our schools not only cover Alaskan Native culture but also the languages. That was not the case growing up in Michigan. Google Elizabeth Peratrovich, she fought for civil rights decades before MLK. The Ancestors of the Apache came from Alaska and the use of the Totem Pole comes from Alaska. The Constitution is closely related to the Iroquois constitution thanks partly to a native chief Canasatego. Then of course all the cities and lakes across the country with native names. There is a lot to discover and that is not even touching on Mexican and Pacific Island heritage like Hawaii & Samoa. Cheers!

    3. โ€‹@LSW Maybe you should get out there, organize, and work on getting Native American History Month more recognition because complaining in the comments of a Black History Month video isn’t going to do it.

    4. @S W How do you manage to misread a single sentence? What particular complaint? I asked a question. Will you disagree that Black History Month gets all sorts of airtime and Native does not? I asked a question. It fits here as well as anywhere else.

  2. Classy people all. Left me a little teary-eyed–and many, who do not know me today, would still call me a “cracker”.

  3. America: “Happy Black History Month!”
Maga cult: “But why isn’t there a WHITE History Month?!?!”
    America: ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ
Maga cult: “Why are you laughing?”

    1. I look forward to the day, when peoples achievements is more important than their race or gender. I personally think this focus on one race, is at least condescending.

  4. What about Charles Drew, who developed the banking of blood plasma by drying it, started many of America’s first blood banks, who resigned when he refused to segregate the life-saving blood supplies.

  5. Wouldn’t it be nice if during Black History month we could learn about all of the contributions of Black people throughout history rather than just American specific Black history. The Ancient Egyptian Imhotep for instance is one of the most important people in all of human history and most people only know that name from silly movies.

  6. Vice President Kamala Harris makes all women across USA incredibly proud. She’s not just the first Black VP, but the best.
