What happened on January 6 was the definition of domestic terrorism.
Domestic terrorism is defined as: violent , criminal acts committed by individuals and/ or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, or racial nature.
The Oaf Tweakers who stormed the Capitol that day thought they were starting a revolution, just like their hero T.McVeigh thought he was going to start a revolution.

Yes it was underestimated but I believe because of the deep swamp of connections by Trump & his children that made the Capitol building riots a success. They did not even have to use cannons from the late 19th century to bomb the Capitol building or even use airplanes flying above the building. And even after the King in the White House has left power to be a private citizen – the deep Trump swamp still runs deep especially in the IRS (where money is the most important thing to Trump & his children), the Justice Department (there was No Counterintelligence Report on Trump in the White House by Mueller), Defense Department (“Billions Spent on U.S. Defenses Failed to Detect Giant Russian Hack”), State Department (bounty on USA troops just a Hoax), Inside of States, etc. And I believe the deep Trump swamp is now the greatest threat to voter suppression & Democracy in the USA.
Every person who heard that Trump was going to hold a rally on the same day/time as the vote confirmation thought ”Ohhhh – that’s going to be trouble!”. Very little ”intelligence” needed.
@Dog Poo Fairy Trump tweeted his supporters to come to Washington on Jan 6th (the day the electoral college votes were counted against him) he told them it would be wild , when BLM went to Washington in June with no instructions from anyone about it being wild he had 4000 National Guard there ahead of time. Also had the BLM protestors (who weren’t trying to storm any government building) teargassed and hit with rubber bullets so he could have a photo op at a church. Now why do you think he sent out the National Guard in June (with no intelligence that it would be WILD) but not in Jan when he already told them it would be wild?

Carlson claims to have had all the evidence, Then he lost it, Then he found it and never reported on it again. Strange for such a huge scandal don’t you think?

@Jacoba Smith Yes! One of his first executive orders was to rejoin the Paris accords and shutdown the Keystone pipeline, putting 11,000 people on unemployment. I don’t think that should have been on his top 10 lists of things to do.
The minimum wage should be raised if the economy can support it. But with the high unemployment, companies going out of business, again it should not be on his top 10 lists of thing to do.
Teacher have been refusing to work since the onset of the pandemic. Trump and the DOH said there is no reason for the schools to be shut down. Why are teachers still getting paid to stay home?

@Dog Poo Fairy I doubt that the people working in the building expected to be exposed like that. In a civilized world, you expect to be able to go about your normal routine without paying much heed to the possibility of being attacked, relying on the forces of law to deal with threats as they might arise.
The members of Congress were entitled to expect their security to be assured by the entire resources of the US, not to be simply abandoned to their fate.
At the very least this was a failure of the people employed to supervise protection of the Capitol. Listening to the inquiry, it begins to sound more like active collaboration at the highest level.
The answers given to questions were glib and unapologetic to the point of being contemptuous.
@Verruca that’s a fair point but I don’t buy it. You had people like AOC running around being hysterical and the mob were in a building nearly half a mile away. She went to work that day, she would have had to travel to and from work without that security. In fact all of the staff in the Capitol Building would’ve had to travel to and from work. If they thought that a mob would be outside they would’ve taken the day off regardless of whether they thought the security would be adequate or not.

I’m seeing that many of the nimrods arrested are being charged with misdemeanors. They need to be charged with felonies. Convicted felons aren’t allowed to own guns. The right to vote is taken away from many convicted felons.
They first pin them with the easy to prove stuff like trespassing, destruction of federal property, etc. Then while the person is being held awaiting trial they will continue to investigate and try to pin any more serious crimes the evidence points to.
