Secret ballot needed for republicans to summon the courage to defy the trumpnazis. No balls required.
@Utha a secret ballot must be devised in one way or another, for the safety of the lives of Republican senators against the d34th threats of their own voter base.
For goodness sake, Trumpist insurrectionists suffering from some sort of syndrome of derangement induced upon them by the lies fed to them by Trump resulted in them trying to take out even Pence, the Vice President, because Trump falsely said he “betrayed” them simply because Republican Pence would NOT violate the constitution for Trump. All Republican senators lives are at risk from deranged Trumpists if the vote is not secret.
Every trial by jury in any court in the USA is done in secret to protect the jurors so they may adjudicate without fear or favor. There is nothing in the constitution that says the vote by the jury in an impeachment trial jury must not be by secret ballot or behind closed doors (with criminal repercussions for anyone who disclosed the votes), especially since doing so may risk the lives of the senatorial jurors.

@Andre Desrosiers No. Party leaders organize their own caucuses. Whichever D or R is selected for political party leadership positions is and has always been completely up to party leaders. They can organize their caucuses however they like and we, the people, don’t vote on any of that or have a say in it. It’s administrative.

@Dan Kahraman oh no they haven’t had the numbers in a long time, they have to keep getting more and more creative. have you heard of some of the new bills they’re trying to pass that would allow the legislators to overturn the results of the election, I forgot which state I had heard they are doing that in. So a presidential candidate could win by a landslide, and they could literally just choose not to go with the people and give the electoral votes to the opposing candidate. I sincerely hope while Democrats are in power right now they will pass some important voting laws

He told his caucus to stop attacking each other publicly and the very next day Matt Gaetz went to Wyoming to campaign against Liz Cheney in her home state.
