I’m in the US, over 65 with co-morbidities. I can’t get the vaccine because we don’t have it. So, I wear a mask and avoid people.

Economic nationalism, what is buying American first?
People are strange. What we are now going through can no longer be stopped. These vaccines can’t protect us anymore. The virus is changing into several Variants. Millions of us are going to die. Climate Change no longer matters anymore
People need to prepare for the worst. This event is going to be a global cleanse. I suggest people just enjoy life for now till it’s gone
I would think Canada plans to donate their excess, Why would they order so much if not? Articles I see state this.
I live in Canada we secured 100s of millions of doses but we haven’t been shipped delays are happening with companies Europe is not letting us get the vaccine from them and other issues I have heard that if we have extra doses we will be giving the to developing nations as wellbut I think the world needs to work together to help get through this we can’t just think about our own countries think about it COVID came from China and went all over the globe we are a connected country if a country is going to war it affects so many people if we want a so called normal where I can go to a sports game again we need to work together on this and give every human on this planet 7.5 billion people the shots not just rich people or countries
The reason was that no vaccine maker was guaranteed to succeed. You could order 100% from one maker, and get nothing because their vaccine didn’t work. So way up front, you place multiple bets, some committed and some options to buy, so that no matter which vaccine company succeeds, you have enough. And donate any excess to other places.
I am not sure about Canada but I know India is gifting Vaccines to the World and has enough
Canada ordered enough from each company to provide for the entire country, with each vaccine. We have also announced that we will donate all surplus vaccines to poorer nations.
