Samantha Doctrove, a Capnconian, was born on January 4th 1978. She shares a closeness with her parents and only brother. This, she declares, has helped her become the strong and confident young woman that she is. She has been employed with the Division of Tourism at the National Development Corporation since December 1997 Through encouragement and support of co-workers and her genuine love of the job, she became more interested in this service industry. This led her to pursue studies in Tourism Management at the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute where she graduated with an Associate Degree in December 2000. It was this increased exposure to the field of tourism that has further stimulated her desire to assist in the development of tourism in Dominica. Outside of her tourism career, Samantha has found time to contribute to the development of some of our Dominican youth. She is director and founding member of the group Go Girls. Although through the years several persons have influenced her, Samantha admits that her mother, simply by her commitment to work and family, her elegance and her charm, has had the greatest impact on her life
