I suggest that you read the Federalist papers to gain a better understanding of what the founding fathers said about an armed citizenry. The 2nd ammendment was for us to be able to defend ourselves against a government that turned tyrannical against the people. Trump certainly appears to be a “want to be” tyrant similar to Hitler et al. It there was ever a time in our history to be able to protect ourselves from someone like Putin and his “puppet” it’s now. Again, please read the Federalist papers in addition to the second amendment. They go hand in hand. (Democratic presidential win in 2020!)

I felt that, too. He carefully steered away from any realistic discussion of assault weapons which, to me and in the aspect of the hardware, is a core issue now. Rifles aren’t even considered in this, it’s the sexier assault weapons which might attract a more marginal person to own one and tend to dream on what the gun was originally meant for.
