Why passing gun control legislation is so hard

In the wake of twin mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayon, Ohio, Congress is faced again with mounting pressure to pass gun control legislation. It’s the same pressure lawmakers faced following the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in 2013. Is there any reason to think this time will be any different?

    1. All of you idiots calling us Fredo if we don’t agree with the bullshit that Trump is trying to shove down our throats you need to remember this, that orange clown won’t always be president and any discriminatory laws that he puts in place can be undone once a president with morals is in the oval office again.

    2. @Ursus Americanus that ignorant comment means talking to you will just lower myself. Hope you get better.

  1. Nra campaign contributions funneled through the nra The whole pay for play broadcasting system cleans up while the public gets shot up
Spineless republicans supporting an antiquated second amendment-fools on the hill kill our children as though they pulled the trigger
Assault weapons gun loopholes given a wink and a nod while the president greenlights violence The gop is anything but prolife
    Prodeath is republicanism

  2. Its hard to pass it because the gun nuts buy into the slippery slope that if you let the govt regulate arms then they will be 1 step from a totalitarian dystopia.

This is a useful political tool for right wing to bash sane democrats from earning trust from moderate conservatives.

But the real fact is that they are just a bunch of bored people with nothing else to do in their rural areas and they like their boom sticks and are being used by corrupt republicans.

  3. The biggest challenge is the second amendment, which clearly and plainly enumerates the right of the People to keep & bear fighting arms.

    1. Ursus Americanus
Do you think the founding fathers meant this second amendment for citizen to kill each other and kill children?

    2. @Roger Out
The right of the People is not conditional upon the state of the Militia. Again, read the text. If you disagree, argue for a repeal. If not, then shut up. 🤷‍♂️

    3. @Ali Durand
lol I don’t think the state of America today represents *anything* the Founders envisioned or wanted.

  4. And now back to

    1. With the name you use for your profile that apparently you are the killer personality. How about cut your own throat? That will make our society more peace

You cumrade shitstains are always good for a laff 👍🏻😂👍🏻

    1. The people using “Fredo” are pretty much proving the left’s point. Why throw out a racist term so freely? You risk alienating Italian Americans.

    1. Not “many.” A few. And so what? It should be illegal to give someone a gun without registering the transfer with the government.

  5. Passing background checks will be imposed, it’s a matter of time. People are fed up with the mass shootings. Give it some time, it will happen eventually.

  6. Why doesn’t CNN care about the gun violence in Chicago? Is it because it’s just Fredos killing Fredos?

    1. WTF?? Who told you they don’t care?? And since when have you idiots all the sudden started to care about gang violence??

    2. Roger Out when they deflect and it fits their own narrative. That’s the GOP. Now that a black man shot 6 cops..the new issue per Trump is to “get tougher on street crime”. So that means to arm everybody.

    1. Roger Out – you remind me of my girlfriend’s leftist husband..calling everyone who disagrees with your precious feelings a ‘tard’. Parroting ‘magatare’ or ‘trumptard’ 1,000 times a day. What’s funny about that is it shows what hypocrites you commies are, supposed to be all about political correctness but slurring people with Down’s syndrome.

  7. Is Fredo alright? We start worrying about Fredo. Bring Fredo back!
_He hasn’t gone fishin’, has he?_
