  1. State leaders have become ‘presidents’ of their states when federal government must  be asked over and over again to step up.

    1. 70s Obsession that’s what leaders do happy he is stepping up can’t say that about the man in White House he’s taking his lead from Gov Cuomo. Cuomo called a state of emergency next day tRump called for national emergency yesterday Cuomo closed down school restaurants and such today tRump said the same thing I’m happy these Governors are stepping up for life sake.

    2. @Rhonda Costa crime has doubled in NY. Nature has decided that liberals must be purged. This is a celebration!

    3. @Gas & Diesel a real genius you are. truly. the good news is the purging is happening naturally exactly the way it’s supposed to happen. Hold tight, k 🙂

    4. @Rhonda Costa I always hold on tight when riding our atv’s, and horse’s. Thanks sweetheart. Planet is overpopulated with useless people breeding bums. Purge

    1. @J Man it doesn’t take any faith. It takes zero faith. We can demonstrate the mechanisms. And where we don’t know – we don’t throw out hand up in the air and say “oh… Well god!”. I cannot disprove god anymore than you can prove it. But that makes the sane default position to be – “I don’t know”.

    2. @J Man no, atheism. Atheism is simply the position that there is not enough evidence to support believing in a god claim. But I also recognise that since the supernatural has no way of being tested, that it cannot be disproven. I don’t hold a strong position on whether God exists.

I hold the position that the Christian god is likely a myth because, hey, it’s just one of thousands of similar gods and the only evidence we have for it is a book written by anonymous authors, and the fingerprints of politicians over the years who shaped the book based on political needs.

    1. Trump already signed 8.4 billion dollar program what else do you want them to do if the media didn’t throw out such a Fear Factor here wouldn’t be so bad would it

  2. Cant we use currently empty school facilities as pop-up hospital faciities as needed? Certain school layouts would better serve us than others.

    1. @Real Talk76 If you want to do some research, read the archives of the University of Pennsylvania medical school. They are online. It tells what they did during the Spanish Flu epidemic in Philadelphia which was the hardest hit city. I just did. It was eye-opening. My grandparents were alive then. As far as I know, no one in my family died of the Spanish Flu but whole families were wiped out.

  3. Last week Trump claimed it was all a hoax, and now he ‘doesn’t take responsibility’. Anyone who still supports this unprecedented moron and fraud needs to take a long, hard look at themselves.

    1. alsey…they won’t care…even if they loose their SS, medicaid, medicare or food stamps. they don’t have it in them to be rational!

    2. But I have no doubt that his moron followers believe whatever he says, and likely just twist it around in their tiny brains to mean whatever they want it to mean

    3. Trump said last month it was going away!” Trump only job’s are going, going, help the American citizens not the fat cats that have millions to spend!”Please help everyone Trump!’ We are in danger!” Please help the citizens Please don’t allow suffering”

  4. Mobile US Army medical units can be mobilized in 24 hours and deployed soon thereafter. I used to serve with the 47th Combat Support Hospital in Ft. Lewis, WA. This unit can be easily mobilized to help Seattle. They are only 27 miles away. I know that soldiers would be highly motivated to help Americans here at home.

    1. @boxfrotwres they’re made in the USA and the company has been waiting for the govt. to order them. So far…not. States and other countries are ordering them but not the Feds.

    1. What he needs is a real engineer to explain that ordering ventilators doesn’t conjure them into existence.

Industry needs to retool, adapt and reprogram machines to make them. Machines don’t just have menus on them where you can “select any product you want made.”

This isn’t Star Trek. We don’t have replicators. They’re working on it as fast as they possibly can because they want the $$$.

    1. @Beth Knight I have confidence that Cuomo is doing the best he can by himself but unfortunately he is not getting the support he needs from Washington.

    2. @murray1575 nobody does, get used to it, those imbeciles from DC are the epitome of incompetence!!!

  5. i like Cuomo’s honesty he said the moment when NYS went under state of emergency he would be truthful to everybody. he’s not sending mixed signals he’s being out and open and i like that. we need to know exactly what’s happening.

    1. The apple don’t fall far from the tree. Don’t forget his Brave father. Mario Como .We so lucky to have this brave man.Why he don’t candidate for President?I voted him and I will again.Even I am Republican, never vote any Rep.because they cover up all crime of this horrible clown.

    2. “Commander in chief ” busy: golfing, lying, tweeting, lying, rejecting “nasty questions,” lying, crying “hoax” and “fake news,” lying, planning Michael Flynn’s pardon, lying…

    3. and he repeatedly said “Don’t blame your local officials. I did this. I know a lot of people are mad – so be mad at me, not local officials.” that’s powerful.

  6. You need leadership – Andrew Cuomo has been outstanding with his responsibilities under the limitations placed on him –

    1. It takes Federal level money and national databases of cases and vulnerable, because everything revolves around vulnerable not knowing what to do and doing foolish things. We need government down to the local level is working on identifying and giving instructions to the vulnerable so they do not come in contact with the sick general population. It should start at Federal web sights referring to State sights which refer to community web sights. The community web sight should define the vulnerable, it should identify the current level for that community (Low, Medium, High) based on the number of Hospital cases within a certain radius. It should tell the vulnerable what to do at each level and phone numbers or wed contacts to get things done like groceries or doctors if in complete isolation. Robo calls could call those number with localized warning about the communities status change, call centers could be used to reach out to people in areas in High state, explain things to them, and arrange a local caller to contact those that need more help.

    2. This is how a reasonably moral (Cuomo has a few gray spots if we’re being 100 percent, but overall he’s infinitely more moral than any Trump acolyte), intelligent person responds as opposed to how an evil, lying, stupid piece of sht responds.

    1. @lucusrose – A military is run with even more authority than a communist country, there are no dissidents in the military

    2. @Hanny Hawkins I didn’t say anything about legality. I don’t trust them to build something right in a normal amount of time, let alone at emergency speed.

    3. @Bher Rabbit Build a wall around the White House, and fill it with water. Drown the orange sewer rat where it lives.

    1. Do not waste time! use medecine the army ,compulsory confinement ,but from a too high rate of contagion the test is no longer usefull,it is necessary to be agree to treat youself ! at home in connection with a city doctor if you feel seek , but from the moment where difficulties happen to breathe ,you have to go to the hospital. But only absolute containment can act on the contagion and can protect your health care system ,if citizens are disciplined it should work , goodluck! message from france)

    1. And the Stock Exchange flushed the entire 1.5 trillion down the toilet in the crash today.
      So much winning….

    2. This all shows just how fragile the perceived power of any nation is in reality. As with the Pharaoh in the days of Moses discovered; so too can a modern nation’s power be obliterated in just a few months.

  7. How is low interest rates going to help me pay my rent and buy groceries when i cant work in a shutdown????

    1. It doesn’t, but don’t worry, the rich are happy to borrow your share? Quit worrying, the 1% will be fine.

    2. The low interest rate helps those with debt or current loans/credit card debt, as the cards/banks cannot just increase the rates for no reason, I think.  It helps businesses to stay afloat for a little longer, to prolong layoffs or letting go of employees.

  8. It’s time for all 50 Governor’s to get together via email, video chat, and good old telephone to have a National plan

    1. This wasn’t Trump’s failure.  This is a world crisis.  Trump’s administration is doing something about it; unlike the previous lying administration who deceived Americans with Obamacare and Benghazi.

    2. Go ahead and impeach Trump again. It will just b another miserable failure for the Democrats because he will be acquitted again… forever.

    3. Wonder how the Trump bashers will feel when they get their Covid-19 relief check?  Still ungrateful jerks?

    4. @Redlion Angel His failure was to disband the pandemic response unit, and refuse the tests WHO offered.

    5. @Redlion Angel Are you brain dead? Why anyone would defend Trump’s actions during this pandemic situation is unforgivable. He is just now coming around to admitting he was wrong to disband agencies set up to deal with pandemics. He is finally listening to people who actually KNOW the situation and how to deal with it. Now he realizes that the people realize he knows nothing about how to deal with it so is finally bringing in people who do. We cannot rely on him. He is an expert at only one thing, how to scam the American public.

  9. It’s sad our president is so corrupt. All he is worried about is the stockmarket. Trump could careless about the American ppl. We need a president who will move for the good of the ppl.

    1. Just so you don’t feel too bad, Australia us tackling it much the same, state by state. Only difference is our might leader is an evangelical Christian and believes in end times rather than out and out narcissist.

    2. lisa gibson – Wait…isnt immigration a FEDERAL responsibility which states like NY and CA choose to ignore?
      Isnt marijana FEDERALLY illegal?
Stop being a puppet. You cant have states ignoring federal laws and then blame the federal government when they cant handle their own state affairs.

    3. There is a federalized response that allows/expects the local leadership who are as close to the situation as possible to make local decisions based on specific needs. All these people do is complain. It sounds like Cuomo is using the virus as an excuse to get new permanent facilities rather than taking the time to properly set up temporary facilities to handle the temporary situation. Instead of spending all day trying to blame others, Cuomo should be obtaining temporary leases on hundreds of facilities and setting up thousands of new beds. He should be training backup medical care workers, possibly utilizing students from nursing and medical schools in exchange for free tuition and other pay. There are probably thousands of vets in the state with medical or related training who have seen their jobs shut down in recent days who would be willing to step up. Get t.he word out. Make some public calls for temporary aid workers who could be assigned to help with seniors or shut-ins in stead of cmplaining Instead, Cuomo has become a partisan who is setting up an excuse for his own failure and, of course, Mika and Joe chime right in. Hey, Joe. You are always the first to blame. Why don’t you work with Cuomo to create a volunteer backstop within your own community to supply and run new temporary facilities. Ask the federal government for funds and other help and stop pretending they won’t lift a finger just because they aren’t necessarily agreeing with a specific request.

  10. We need the Army Corp of Engineers to build hospitals and we must have a response from the Federal Government now.

    1. julia…someone posted why not use the empty schools since the kids are at home! i think that’s a great idea!

    2. Maybe they could build the hospitals in a long line, all connected together, for q1,800 miles across the Mexican border?

    3. Cuomo not only wants the Army Corps of Engineers to build permanent new facilities for New York within two weeks, he wants it to be a federal response and have the Army Corp of Engineers build shiny new hospitals in every pocket of America. Or maybe Cuomo thinks only he should get new hospitals, knowing it is impossible for the federal government to do the same for everyone. He is dreaming, making excuses, politicizing instead of taking the time needed to set up temporary facilities in his own jurisdiction. The federal government can’t and shouldn’t control everything. The state and local people know their states and localities far better than the people in Washington know them. Cuomo needs to take the lead, stop making excuses, and get the job done. Obviously, the federal government will back reasonable requests from him.
