US officials repeatedly misled public about Afghanistan war, WaPo reports

Confidential documents obtained by The Washington Post about Afghanistan war reveal that top US officials misled the American public about the war in Afghanistan in order to conceal doubts about the likelihood that the US could be successful in the nearly 20-year effort since its earliest days, the paper reported in a major investigation on Monday.

    • @Qunited States Patriot :What a Quack. You are pathetic.

    • @Rick Simpson Obama was the first president in US history to be in a war the entire eight years of his presidency. He was as big a corporate stooge as any Republican ever was.

  8. U.S wars only benefits the military industrial complex corporations, politicians in this country love going to war and sacrifice young Americans to go die.

    • It’s not about lives, never has been. It’s all about money. Politicians wave the flag and send our troops off to die for the sole purpose of keeping that cash from military donors coming in.

  9. Who needs to look at Ukraine for corruption when it’s right in DC and the Pentagon.

@projeckt2501 the IG report doesn’t bring an end to the investigation. It’s his (Horowitz) report based on his findings. There is still the Durham investigation and subsequent report.

    • @Qunited States Patriot Durham’s report goes into much greater depth, as well.

    • @soylentdean We’ll see about that. There needs to be an investigation into how Durham conducted his investigation, since he is obviously a biased partisan hack.
