Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker, co-authors of "A Very Stable Genius," talk with Rachel Maddow about how Donald Trump's vengeful style has discouraged sources from speaking out about how Trump runs the White House, and the common theme recounted to them that Trump's ego and self-image the main priority above all else in the Trump administration. 1. @whatsyurprob ? I am starting to think you are a comedian. Is it like a Colbert Show thing? Back when his character was a republican? Or is this Kaufmanesque?

  1. Trump is the perfect Example of NPD and not too mention his low IQ and inability to act honestly, this imposter has to go…..!

    1. @Al Shabob “Economic prosperity”. Check the national debt numbers tracking over the past fifteen years, then stop leaving comments like this.

    2. @Ryan Donahue The ones who used to have their main selling point that they were fiscal conservatives are now so silent.

    1. @Gabe Dudley. We’ve all seen the Drumpf rallies, or rather, hate fests. We know more than we ever wished to learn about Orange Floater’s supporters…and the baser human emotions and reactions. The proof is in on videotape. Drumph supporters are horrid people, and The Orange Floater is beneath contempt.

    2. Gabe Dudley Yes! Why don’t people like corrupt lying bigots? It’s a mystery. He just got popped for running a phony charity. He stole from veterans and children with cancer and bought a huge painting. Of himself. His greasy children have to take classes in how to not rip people off. And people have the nerve to detest that malignant narcissist???

    3. @Gabe Dudley Gabe Look in a mirror buddy the actual question you should be asking is “What kind of person is willing to support Trump NOMATTERWHAT?
Trump’s crimes are obvious. Why do Repubs prefer far fetched conspiracy theories as opposed to the obvious testimonies in front of them?
Trump revealed secrets to Russia that threatened US and Israeli security.
Trump punished critics by revoking their security clearances.
Trump witheld funds needed by Ukraine to fight Russian and requested that the Ukraine announce an investigation into the Biden family for PERSIONAL POLITICAL GAIN.
The US Constitution forbids accepting payments or fees from foreign powers.

    1. @rolandbcool
      Great response ……………
You don’t believe the intelligence community about 2016 election interference but you probably believe the same intelligence community about the last iran general assasination

    2. They will still be there if people don’t vote them out! It’s time for people to take charge of their lives and get rid of these people!

  2. After ALL that said and evidence presented, the Tramp in the w/h will still get 40+% of the vote in November. What does it say about your fellow citizens of the US?!

    1. @S T23 I’m certainly not expecting him to hand over the reigns of government quietly, particularly if he loses in 2020. He might go quietly if he makes it to 2025 and can hand it over to someone he likes.

    2. @Anak Romulen I stayed and I’m fighting. I didn’t run away to Florida or to Europe. I fight. We’ll win. We’ll rid ourselves of this evil man.

  3. As bad a president as most of us believe him to be once he is out of office we will find out it was 100 times worse then we could have guessed

    1. what your gonna find out is God is keeping him president and there is a good purpose for everything God does. If you think God is guilty of wrongdoing by making trump president, then get yourself a fresh diaper and baby bottle and take it up wtih God. I’m sure he will put you in your place and real fast.

    2. ‘Trump Lies 15x a day’ says fake news; after 23 min. https://youtu.be/8Y5ehCYd8Do From Holland🇳🇱 with love ❤️🇺🇸 Q+A. WUT? What do have these people in common? —Pelosi’s son, (PushupHairylegs) Biden’s son, Kerry’s son, Kerry’s daughter, Romney’s son, kiLIARy’s daughter — a). Ukraïne b). Energy c). Bribery d). Moneymoneymoney💸 e). They are panicking f). Deep State g). Corruption h). Soros i). j). (false) religious and anti-Christian K). Hearsay hearblaba fake parrotting, orrrr: L). All of these above? Well ‘National’ Geografic became ‘International’ Geographic, as ‘National’ Socialists became ‘International’ Socialists, who cares; Adolf H said he was a socialist, and he loved socialism, like all the ‘xtreme leftist, arrogant NWO corrupt (inter)(national)socialists!

  4. “Trump struck me as adolescent, hilariously ostentatious, arbitrary, unkind, profane, dishonest, loudly opinionated, and consistently wrong,” Bowden wrote last year in Vanity Fair, recalling his time profiling Trump. “He remains the most vain man I have ever met. And he was trying to make a good impression.”
    — Mark Bowden, author of Blackhawk Down

“Lying is second nature to him. More than anyone else I have ever met, Trump has the ability to convince himself that whatever he is saying at any given moment is true, or sort of true, or at least ought to be true..
He said that Trump had no ideology or beliefs, except that he should prevail in the end.

“Trump’s temperament and his habits have hardened with age.” Schwartz said. “He was always cartoonish, but compared with the man for whom I wrote The Art of the Deal 30 years ago, he is significantly angrier today: more reactive, deceitful, distracted, vindictive, impulsive and, above all, self-absorbed.”
“Every American ought to be concerned about his character.” Schwartz said.

–Tony Schwartz, the ghost writer for Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal”:

    1. @Calvin R. Johnson Jr. I agree. They were actually ‘traitors in waiting’, just waiting until Trump came along and drew their true inner nature out of them.
It’s a hard fact to face, but we may be living through the fall of the United States. Not all stories have happy endings. Or we may have to rise up to prevent the fall.

  5. Make no mistake, Trump isn’t just a national security threat, he poses the biggest national security threat to the country today. And no one knows this more than the people closest to him.

    “I think he’s a kook, I think he’s crazy. I think he’s unfit for office.”
–Lindsey Graham on Trump,  Feb, 2016

“Here’s what you’re buying: He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot. He doesn’t represent my party. He doesn’t represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for. And you know how you make America great again, by telling Donald Trump to go to he//.”
–Lindsey Graham on Trump, Dec 8, 2015

    1. Donald Trump is bad at communication.
Donald Trump is bad at negotiating.
Donald Trump is bad at determining the difference between what is true and what is not true.

A person with such shortcomings holding the highest office in the land automatically makes them a threat to national security.

    2. @HeisenbergCertainty I think he is an excellent demagogue – his fans are so deeply in love with him! That others find him repulsive I believe is very important to them.

  6. The red hats should display MDTG (Make Donald Trump Great).
On the other hand, if he really wanted to create a better image, he would have kept his mouth shut about 16,241 public lies ago.

  7. Phil Rucker is a bloody legend👍

he’ll go down in political journalism as one of the hardest working, honest and unbiased reporters of all time👍

    1. It is stunning that the entirety of the GOP support this man. Why~How? Do any of them have a conscience, or any semblance of morality and integrity? And just about all of them are highly educated professionals!

    2. @Joseph Randazzo just look back at his life. He started promoting himself in the late 70’s/early 80’s. Fed stories to news outlets about himself…..few of which were true.

  8. Another example of trump displaying the 7 deadly sins. Pride and wrath are 2 of them. He’s clearly all 7 of them

  9. PEOPLE WHO STAND UP TO TRUMP, ARE GOING TO GO THROUGH SOME THINGS. BUT THEY WILL BE REMEMBERED AS HEROES IN HISTORY WHO STOOD UP FOR THE UNITED STATES AND OUR DEMOCRACY

    1. John Edward: Tillerson, Kelly Maddows and more must surely be invited to speak on their experiences with Trump.

    2. John Edward Rachel Maddow deserves a Pulitzer Prize for journalism, uncovering the depth of corruption in the Trump Administration. If there’s a democracy left after the 2020 election, it will be due to the work she and her colleagues have done to get the truth out.

  10. I just can’t imagine the damage this con man will do to the nation if given four more years…I’m not sure the fractured country will be able to come together again if this corruption doesn’t end soon.
