Not only Nixon was about to be impeached he was about to go to jail too
And then he got pardoned, which I’m afraid will happen with Trump as well, if it gets to that point.

@drew pedersen Trump can only be pardoned by Pence for the federal crimes but the charges in the Southern District of New York can’t be pardoned by Pence. Trump’s legal trouble not only continues, but appears to get worse on the day he leaves office, whenever that day does come.
Republicans during the Nixon impeachment were actual conservatives. Republicans during the Trump impeachment call themselves “conservative” but upon being pressed, reveal themselves to be moral nihilists.
Moscow Mitch is the problem.
I honestly think that there’s a pretty strong group in the GOP who want a dictatorship, and are happy to use Trump as the empty vessel to get one.

Indeed. Trump and his cronies found themselves amazed at winning and totally unprepared to “transition” with the outgoing Obama administration. Trump probably still has vacancies to fill left over from that administration. I remember when postmasters in even tiny rural villages were likely to be replaced with members of the winning party as necessary to maintain party consistency. Never figured out why, though.

When I was a kid, we lived on a property that bordered Murdoch’s mother in Australia. I always remember her telling my father that Rupert was dangerous and she was worried. My father never really questioned her on it. Our family still talk about it often.

The crimes Nixon and co. committed would constitute a rather boring Tuesday morning for the Trump admin. Our man Boris probably did just as terrible things during the Brexit campaign and he’s not a patch on Trump.
