@Stephen Gleason unemployment only counts people collecting unemployment insurance. With part time work and the gig economy, less people are even eligible to collect unemployment insurance.
Example: young family member worked in scientific research, gets laid off because Trump and you Rethuglicans hate science so cut the federal budget for scientific research. She decides to go into the gig economy, didn’t even bother with unemployment insurance because there are no jobs in her field, and you mist be job hunting while you collect it. Young person’s career doing what she loved? Derailed thanks to Trump and you Repulitards who put him in power.
You may think this is a good economy, but my definition of a good economy is one that creates good jobs, not gig jobs.
