mary jones – I’m reading through your comments and it seems like you are advocating that we shouldn’t have pulled our troops out?
If you think it should have been done differently, how would you like to have seen it done that would have prevented turkey from going in?
mary jones – “According to United States Army Special Forces Commander General Raymond A. Thomas at the Aspen Security Forum in July 2017, the SDF is a PR-friendly name for the YPG, which Thomas personally suggested because the YPG is considered an arm of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is designated as a terrorist group by the Federal government of the United States.”
It was easy to find that the SDF is just a renamed PKK.
@Crimdor now was not the time, as any thinking human being would agree. our allies have been securing not only that area but the world by stopping isis. you remember isis, surely. the terrorists who have been wreaking havoc on the world, America included. we had only a minor presence there, training our allies, the kurds, and by our presence helping to keep them safe from the turks and assad. it was revolting that we would throw our allies to the wolves. but you probably don’t mind that. as Americans, most of us do, very much.
It takes a special kind of blindness to not see the Trump treachery .

How Low he has Brought Down our Values is just diagusting to watch
First the Kurds, who is next? If Trump talks to Xi on the phone, who will be thrown under the bus? Japan? Taiwan? Hong Kong?
First? Remember when he cancelled some, and scaled back other training exercises meant to help readiness of a possible North Korea attack? That was something from his first meeting with Kim Jong Un, and in particular threw South Korea, Japan, and others in the area under the bus, while North Korea provided nothing in return. He’s screwed over Canada, and Mexico in trade deals, I mean for a while at least, the US was shifting to Russia for their soft wood lumber, rather than getting it from Canada due to the tariffs he slapped on. Oh, then shortly after he got in he pulled out of the international Paris environmental agreement, and the TTP. Unless it relates to Russia, Saudi Arabia, or the like, he’s been busy stabbing every country in the back, every chance he has.
Japan should move out of the way of Kim’s missile tests.
This “deal” is so heartbreaking I can’t watch anymore. God help us, nothing less than a miracle is required.

Well, if we have 6 days of partial ceasefire, we should right the situation with more than just sanctions. We should be putting as many American troops, armor, and air power that can be mustered from the nearby countries. Trump should be prevented from interfering in any official business, and Congress should make legal efforts to sustain all military soft spots around the globe. UN should take action against any further aggression by Turkey, including expulsion if it does not withdraw. European allies should be invited to install a protection force in Syria, with an offer of air protection from the US. Impeachment proceedings must be expedited considering national security and recent global threats, Trump is involved with.
A coward who plays a tough guy. We’ve all seen the movie. The amazing thing is the audience clapping for the bad guy. They are easy to spot. They wear red MAGA hats.
