I do agree that the language does not necessarily expand the base, and in a perfect world would be discarded. @Ken Tinman i was a kid in canada [ the best country in the world ] in the early 60s when our ‘crazy old lefty ‘ tommy [ t c ] douglas championed universal health care which after a very tough battle we got in 1965 . now that i’m an old man who has had 2 heart attacks , the 1st involved a 300 mile helo ride to a major centre, dozens of test ; ultra sounds , ekgs mris etc. , a stint , angeoplast and a 12 day hospital stay . estimated cost in the u s a 200k to 250k even with good insurance i would have been on the hook for at least 25k had i been in the us a. now at 73 i take 5 meds a day that retail in the u s a for approx. $600.00 a month i pay about $22.00 a month because we have pharma care . there is no reason in the world for u s citizens to be denied decent affordable health care . p.s. the 1st heart attack did cost me some money , i bought coffee for the e m ts on the ride home from halifax .
