Residents trapped on beach as Australian wildfire rages

Thousands of people are trapped on a beach in southeast Australia after fleeing their homes, as strong winds brought wildfires and smoke so thick that the morning sky turned dark.
About 4,000 residents and visitors were forced to leave their homes and vacation accommodation in Mallacoota, in the state of Victoria, authorities said, as wildfires rage across the region.
The town activated its emergency siren warning of the imminent fire threat early in the morning, and residents headed to the seaside, following an evacuation plan previously outlined in community meetings.

  1. This is horrible I hope everybody is all right and I hope everybody has a safe and New Year’s especially the people in Australia

    1. I’m from NSW, sadly not long ago multiple fire fighters have died, including a 28 year man volunteer with a wife and an unborn baby, and the heat wave and water draught are making things worse, theres smoke and ashy clouds everyday, looks post apocalyptic lol.

    2. Steve Sanzari : Of course we do. As an old Bushfire fighter, I know that many vols are greenies and fight for the bush, animals and environment.

    1. @Alex Oborne So you admit the US is a totalitarian dictatorship that you always fear the Democrats would be wanting?

    2. @citizenxgen Hurricanes also happen every single year but recently they are becoming more common and much stronger

    1. @Agolf Tweetler yep, the New South Wales (the state where most of the fires are) Volunteer Fire Agency is the largest volunteer fire agency in the world at over 70,000 members

    2. @Dave
Thanks for telling us. We owe Aussie’s every firefighter we can spare here as the grass is green and weather cold.

    1. 0 00 faith and religion are two completely different things. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
      ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭
Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, called them a brude of vipers. He said that those who pray in the streets so that they may be seen by others have their reward in hell. He wasn’t religious whatsoever.

    2. @Davis Gomez you said all other religions say you must do something to go to heaven…… but you still have to believe to get into heaven of burn for eternity…. THATS THE MAIN THING IN CHISTIANITY YOU LOON!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS A RELIGION!!!!!! YYOU HAVE AN ULTIMATUM WORSHIP ME AND BELIEVE IN ME OF BURN FOR ETERNITY!!!!

    3. 0 00 Christianity is the one belief. You have to realize it’s not a religion. Catholicism is a religion. This book from the Stone Age has perfect wisdom, you’ve just never read it with a humble heart. It’s the only doctrine that said to love your enemies. There are prophecies from this book from the Stone Age that have come to pass and are coming to pass as we speak. Also the time period doesn’t matter, God doesn’t change like man does, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
      ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬

    4. 0 00 I said in all other religions you have to do certain works. I didn’t say in all other religions you have to do something. You need to have an ear to hear. Obviously you have to do something to get into heaven. Otherwise Hitler would be in heaven and everyone would be there which would make it no different than here. Belief isn’t works. Also your fruit is showing again.

  2. Guys please pray for my country we are having so many fires, it’s really sad and the government is refusing to cancel the NYE fireworks in Sydney even if we the citizens are demanding not to go ahead this is terrible !

    1. What are prayers supposed to do? Are you expecting that your prayers will summon some being that will blow out those fires? Get real.

    2. @May the Science be with You you’re funny. Wow it must feel so good to know everything about the universe. You are so much better than everyone.

    3. @Deborah Cox so Aus is at risk of more bush fires because they are holding fireworks in the CBD and over the harbour…..wow, just fucking wow.

    4. @May the Science be with You i see you on every comment, just stop and do something yourself to help our fires rather than being a salty little brat. Become a volunteer firefighter if you want something so desperately done about it!

    1. No it was just weather! I also live in sth east suburbs, Not the first time we have had a storm in summer in the 45+ years I have been living here. lol

    1. @Suzette Petillo please don’t have any children, do us a solid will ya. We don’t need more dumb fucks like you. Dickhead!

    2. because that would mean facing up to his mistakes; a few months ago he cut the rural bushfire funds in NSW by 70%, ignored the numerous warnings that came from bushfire experts, and is an active climate change denier. admitting he’s wrong means doing something

    3. U.S and Canadian firefighters got here in Sydney around 5th of December. Problem is there are many fire seasons that over lap with ours, we can’t expect massive support because that would leave those areas, like California without experienced firefighters at a time they would need them most.

    1. @Kevin R thoughts and prayers bro. It totally works with school shootings so it should solve other problems!

    1. Tony Johnson idk if you’re insinuating something mate but i’m a christian soo… but even if i weren’t, so what

    2. Did you cast a vote based on climate change? We’re you “thinking ” of the 6th mass extinction that is happening right now?

    1. Let’s see, fires all over the world caused by record high temperatures that keep increasing year after year … I wonder what could be causing it, hmmmm.

    2. The socialist Australian greens rediculas policies are partly responsible for what we see
      Just to let you know
Australia is the second driest continent on earth
      Fires are normal
      This is not global warming
      We’ve always been Fucking Hot

    3. @The BenC so it’s okay to cut funding to the fire service to build some fucking stadium for Sydney yeah sure buddy.

    1. Yeah you can try that although it’s not going to work the Bible stipulates more Jesus will burn up a third of the earth well look what’s happening ladies and gentleman you keep pushing Jesus Christ out of this world ungodly people watches go up in flames
