Chris Cillizza explains big picture of what the Oregon/Idaho drama tells us about polarization in the country.

    1. @Earnest Lee Saddened

Lots of open space. One of the diverse and beautiful countries in the world.

BTW. Southern Ontario where I live is on the same latitude as Northern California.

    2. @WTF Again? yeah if you like peat bogs. And your latitude is the best thing you can think of about Canada holy smokes you are short on f****** attractions. Shut up

    1. Average Joe do you believe you people won the real popular vote in 2016? That was just voter fraud in California

    2. @The Tweatles of course they are and it’s disgusting anti americans always have been always will be.

    1. @Patrick O’Neil why is the job of the democrats to heal divisions. Dont see Alabama or Georgia doing that

    2. @Texas-7111 Freedom and Liberty! You say it like you don’t say it already haha

    3. @Patrick O’Neil Them wanting to leave isn’t very healing, wouldn’t you say? Stop being a prick.

    4. Jenn Faire ok so you’re clearly insane. I guess lumping everyone on the left together is fine to you. I guess people should also say that right wingers should stop committing hate crimes and domestic terrorism and holding white power marches? Fucking moron.

    1. @John Pattillo Exactly. They want the benefits of being Oregonian without any of the obligations. People like that only think of themselves and what they can take from everyone else. If they’re actually upset with the state’s politics, they can vote with the feet and get the hell on down the road. They could try and get along with their neighbors, but they’re more interested in taking what the neighbors have without having to pay for it.

    1. Eclipse The Gambling Ocelot ugh right? You can always move to Venezuela if you hate this country so much. I’ll help buy your ticket…if not, hopefully you’ll move when KAG 2020.

    2. @Daniel Hinck that makes sense.
If in red states life long resident Dems/liberals have issue with the politics their told “Oh well, suck it up or leave”. So no your point is meritless.

    3. @Obverse Singularity That’s all it is… 🦊 and Rush. That’s all they’ll listen to. No center-minded conversation. Just spew and angry AM radio.
Myopic inputs produce myopic outputs and views.

    4. @solomon kane Republicans want everyone to be rich? Explain that thought. Because Republicans are quite happen letting in migrant labor from the south to do the menial work. And have been since Reagan opened the southern border. Silly rabbit.

  1. I live in Oregon and to this I say; we’re not important enough for anyone to care about this issue either way

    1. we trigger Trumptards just by living on “the west coast” which to flyover state haters is all “CaliForNia reeeeeeeeee!!!!!”

    1. @Mark Ewing couldn’t agree more with that. Alas, I’ve never had the chance to pay my way out of problems so my mindset is that of a fixer and a maker

  2. back during the Vietnam era I distinctly remember the repub rejects telling us to get out of our country if we dont like it. Well little Snowflakes, if you dont care for Oregon….we will gladly help you sissies pack.

    1. Dave W Unfortunate how disconnected rural and urban communities are. A lot can be done to bridge the divide, and that’s just not being done. You can see the effects on the national level.

    2. Nah, we’ll just take what’s ours and lock you in your easily walled off and cut off population centers, where you’ll tear yourselves apart. See you soon, boomer trash.

    3. Again, the only snowflakes are on the Marxist left.
You Marxist lefties were calling yourselves snowflakes before we called you people snowflakes.
So suck it up, snowflakes… We can’t wait to hear you people scream at the sky again in 2020 🙂

  3. Just move to Idaho if you don’t like Oregon or California! Love it or leave it, snowflakes

    1. @Ricky Spanish We have no middle class left anyway; we have been stripped to nothing by the corporate elite. That’s why we taking our country back.

    2. And if people don’t lime racial tension in the south they should “just move north” right?

      Bold faced hypocrites

  4. Russia backed a bunch of these “movements” during the last presidential election period. It’s just a distractive measure. Anyone remember California secession or splitting that state?

    1. @Jeffrey Meade So, I guess you believe Brexit was a homegrown movement too? Yeah, I thought so.
Let’s look at the comment, “russia backed…”
The commenter is mostly correct, so what if he said “a bunch of”

  5. So when Republicans can’t gerrymander they resort to wanting to secede? Freaking traitors, I swear

    1. @jfsfrnd Louis Marinelli. He’s actually American and he ran off to Russia & said he couldn’t come back to the US.

    2. @Gregg Lol, there were definitely crimes committed. Was even shown in the 22000+ documents released during the impeachment trial in the Senate.

  6. Then every state would split and began new states decreasing and increasing our fifty states. Crazy.

  7. taking gerrymandering up a level are we? Instead of merging counties, lets just merge states!

    1. what difference does it make there only do it cause they know they can’t win now since when do they even care about IDAHO

    2. There is an proposal in Texas where you can have unlimited amounts of guns in designated towns. Maybe not such a bad idea to section of the cra cras. I would support the walls that go around these towns. Keep them inside away from other humans.

  8. They’ve got toe tapping republican congressman that like playing footsies at the men’s urinals.

  9. If they are so unhappy instead of doing all that nonsense they could just move to Idaho,no one is stopping you
