@Don Anderson i find something a miss with this. Irregardless i respect Cummings for his stand on the children’s treatment. How can anyone not see that. He was right to stand up. It is troubling to see congressman that condone ill treatment of humans in our Government.
It has been revealed that 1000s more children were separated from their parents at the border than previously reported. This was done in secret. And it continues. There is the largest lawsuit filed yet against Nielsen and Miller. Have all the separated migrant children been reunited with their parents yet as ordered by a Federal judge? Don’t forget this is still happening and it’s human rights abuses.
Cue 1st Amend humm could these things be why the states were pulled out of some UN things?
Anyone who reads history knows that violent ethnonationalist rhetoric (which Trump has been tweeting/spouting for years) is often accompanied by then-secret pogroms against the designated noncitizens. In Bosnia it was parents being forced to watch as their children were forced to drink motor oil then shot in a ditch. In Nazi Germany it was the systematic elimination of Jews, Roma, handicapped people, you name it. What’s been going on here, we haven’t yet seen.
Congress is going on yet ANOTHER recess??? They need to work full-time like the rest of us to earn their free healthcare and comfortable salaries and perks. Stop the recesses!!!!

My fear is that the core principles of our society are being stepped away from and cruel, selfish foundations are being laid.

In time we will come to know the extent of the damage by seeing its effects. Russia & China expanding their reach and influence throughout the world. Dissolution of the EU, NATO, and the whole western post-war system of alliances. Iran & North Korea making progress with their WMD programs and launch vehicles. The world thinking that the word of the US on a treaty isn’t worth the ink used to write it. Irreversible economic decline in the US once the US dollar is no longer seen as a stable or trusted currency for international trade. Oh wait, he’s already accomplished all that 🙁
