    1. It is the NIMBY principle: don’t care/exist until it happens in my backyard. Same problem with conservatives/republicans: don’t want to change until unsustainable status quot blows up in their faces.

    2. Most aren’t denying climate change but taxing us does not change the weather. They need to look in the corporate back yards. Stop supporting their insanity or you are just as bad.

  1. Why hasn’t Trump ordered at least one of our two US Navy hospital ships, the Mercy and the Comfort to the Bahamas. They were built to conduct humanitarian and disaster relief missions around the world, which they’ve done before in the past.
On second thought Never mind, I almost forgot….he’s a complete sociopath, and he doesn’t care.

    1. I agree with sending them but can they get to this island? I hate Trump like anyone with a functioning brain cell does but if so much of these islands are still under water can they get close enough and do they have the capability to transport people from the islands to the ships? The coast guard is already there. We rely so heavily on the coast guard but they are so rarely given credit.

    2. chrissyce
I don’t see why it would be a problem. Anywhere within 12 miles of the islands would be easy for the Coast Guard and transport the sick, elderly and children from shore to ship, by boats or helos. And yes, our Coast Guard doesn’t get enough credit. They have always done an amazing job.

    3. @chrissyce I’m not sure if you have a functioning brain cell yourself. Of course we can get there but is it really our responsibility? Are they not part of the Commonwealth of Britain?

    4. @David J Thats not how it works. You are not obligated to the action if it is just a straightaway guess. You have done that action when there is proof. Believe me I have been looking for ages and cnnot find anything on the UK sending aid.

  2. Democrats have shown themselves to be guttersnipes who slam Trump 24 7 instead of doing something constructive like meeting with Trump and going on national TV to offer their solutions for the hurricane, both before and after, so as to show they at least tried. But that’s not gonna happen though as Dems are political party first, America second hacks, who politicize anything and everything in their faux outrage as they fingerpoint and virtue signal.

  3. Focused on beating these 10 GOP Senators in 2020:
    Mitch McConnell (KY)
    Susan Collins (ME)
    John Cornyn (TX)
    Joni Ernst (IA)
    Cory Gardner (CO)
    Lindsey Graham (SC)
    Cindy Hyde-Smith (MS)
    Martha McSally (AZ)
    David Perdue (GA)
    Thom Tillis (NC)

    1. I agree and keep posting this if you have a Twitter account keep it fresh in peoples mind to the point that when the election comes they will remember it and they will get rid of them.

    2. @Stormfire962 #IMASTARCITIZEN I tell all people Donate Support run for office follow on all social media thank you

    1. The Bahamas are still a part of the Commonwealth, yet the primary part, the UK, has a history of being dead beats concerning some parts; while they will send some aid they could send more.

    2. @Conjurer Woman Commonwealth or not the queen is not gonna do squat about it! just like there other parts of the commonwealth they dont care. Yes, the queen might her your private funds to aid them but the rest of the Union wont send a nickel.

  4. I’m not a particularly religious person, but God Bless those people doing the relief work. Highest respect!

    1. @googlesucks you No it’s actually worse than that: God gets all the credit and none of the blame for everything that comes our way. This is the double-standard of the Christian faith. When something bad happens, God is mysterious. When something good happens, God is benevolent. God gets a free pass no matter what happens.

    2. DON’T WORRY BECAUSE JESUS AIN’T EITHER, REMEMBER THE PHARISEES HAD JESUS CRUCIFIED & THE WHITE EVANGELICALS OF TODAY AIN’T NO BETTER THAN THEY ARE EITHER!!πŸ’―πŸ‘ΏπŸ‘ΏπŸ†—βœŒπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  5. We can plan all we want but when Mother Nature is ready to throwdown nothing will stop her. The great equalizer!

  6. When told about the devastation in the Bahamas, t’rump asked, “they’re black and they can’t vote…so why are you bothering me with this?”

  7. I understand not counting the bodies, but I hope they are being retrieved, labeled, and stored someplace where they will not become the source of sickness for an already traumatized population.

    1. Hahaha that’s fairly typical lol after a disaster, most people prefer their loved ones NOT being left as carrion for seagulls. πŸ˜‚

The hard part is finding them all, and that takes clean-up and debris removal, a process which is obviously slowed down a little when the people who did survive require immediate food and medical attention.

    2. @TWSTF 8 Actually most of the unretrieved bodies are under tons of rubble. Most of the heavy equipment needed for this work is no longer serviceable and that which is functional has to clear rubble to get there. Many sites are still under water. Yesterday there was a call for divers to retrieve bodies. Remember, It’s been a week in near tropical conditions.

  8. America America

Weatherman trump is now trying to get the people in Alabama who corrected what trump did, giving false information he knew it was wrong.
So trump gets to dictate who can correct his.errors,.now people at the weather community can’t correct misinformation that the impostor occupying the oval office gives.

Any one who loses their jobs, sue the trump administration, sue acting Secretary commerce sue him personally, Alabama tv personal if you lose your jobs sue your station, personally sue commerce acting Secretary personally sue d j trump, and trump administration.

If trump is allowed do give false information, and others lose their livelihood, trump is well on his way to being a dictator.
    The military
    The supreme court
    Senate
    Cabinet members
Trump has placed weak people in place he pretty much does what ever he decides.

Trump puts his corrupt hands on every area of our society, nothing is off limits to him, this is where our democracy is heading.
    This is so crazy

  9. “The island is surrounded by water”. What an inane comment – the very definition of an island is land surrounded by water.
I just waited for him to add “very WET water”, Trump-style.

  10. Perhaps a few naval ships and or cruise liners can pull off the coast of the Bahamas to temporarily assist these people who are currently stranded without adequate shelter, food, water and basic medical needs?
