Why not “we need to stand together”, “we are saddened by the events”, “we have started a go fund me for a memorial in their names”, “we need more evaluations for children to determined mental well being”. I did understand that he is tired of hearing that the politians are just full off hot air but don’t do nothing about it. It’s just a platitude phrase when they give their condolences with “thoughts and prayers” and nothing is done to prevent mass shootings (four or more are shot in one incident, at one location, at roughly the same time – definition). He was not putting the normal person down. This was all about politics.
So…let’s break this down a bit: In response to my recommendation that people speak gently to each other and leave violence out of it, Carroll replies with something along the lines of hate and butt cracks. So…yeah, okay, there is some comedic element to that remark to which…ha ha ha. Yes. Funny. Ha ha. Mostly, it is a rhetorical flourish, the burden of which is “No! No talking! No talking to the BAD and wicked and stupid people who vote incorrectly. Icy silence punctuated by howls of rage and hostility.” Is that the idea? Really? Any inkling of a suspicion that something might maybe go wrong with that approach? Any evidence of anything good ever coming from it?
