@mooskanate Is that supposed to be a negative or a positive? I assume you view it as a negative given your closing sentence. I agree that it’s important to get things done (e.g. I’m glad we got the PPACA even without a public option since that was a poison pill in the Senate back in 2009), but there’s also the risk of being part of the “chickensh*t club” where you only try to do “easy” stuff where there isn’t great risk of failure. Bernie may well have been all too pure throughout his political career to get a lot of legislation passed, but sometimes you need that to move The Overton Window your way.

Back in 1932, there was a candidate whose detractors called a “communist,” a “socialist,” a “dreamer,” a “false prophet,” they said he would bankrupt the country, etc. His name was Franklin Delano Roosevelt… and he went on to being elected FOUR TIMES IN A ROW. Bernie is going to win this election, just like FDR did. And for the same reasons. *BERNIE 2020*
Worth noting–FDR swept even the Deep South by running on kitchen table issues. He topped 400 EC votes every time he ran for president.
