    1. Exactly. Oklahoma was nuts to have settled for $500 mil. This case is a slam dunk & NOBODY should settle out of court! The lawyers will still get their 1/3 fee either way — make them earn it by taking the cases to trial. That way, all the back-office details come out, all the meeting notes & emails showing that the manufacturers & staff doctors & pharmacists all knew how addictive these narcs were. With so many families having been devastated by Oxycontin, the final awards could be far more than $12 bil.

    2. @R C real issue imo is that Oklahoma didn’t settle, but a judge found it an appropriate fine. Almost makes you wonder about possible ties between the judge and the company

  1. Big Pharma is the worlds biggest drug pusher. Forget the Cartels, Pablo Escobar. Big Pharma makes these baddies look small time in comparison.

  2. Thats just it though these untouchable billion dollar corporations pay their way out of everything and then proceed to go back to business as usual until something else happens and the cycle continues

  3. whatever they’re paying isnt enough to make up for the wholesale damage they’ve inflicted on this country

  4. I say settle this one, but legislate new laws which include drug company executives needing to go to jail mandatorily, as well as requiring the companies to set aside 90% of all profits be placed in a pool for compensation to all future law suits. If Congress blocks legislation, then have all 50 states pass the same law in each state

  5. Purdue made $31 billion…in ONE YEAR.
Making them pay $10 billion is them trying to get off easy.
    Do ๐Ÿ‘ Not ๐Ÿ‘ Let ๐Ÿ‘ Them ๐Ÿ‘

  6. This is an outrageous amount for the company shareholders to pay for the company executive’s crimes! Maybe the Supreme Court can overrule this egregious injustice that would affect the amount of bribes the company pays to members of Congress.

  7. find the money flowing in government from corruption, find the people dealing through the system, put them in jail, free the children, let them provide toothpaste and water to the real aliens

  8. Love it, A half billion here and there and it could add up. Drug companies really have us over the coals when they can write off billions as mere operating expenses and still make record profits.

  9. Better yet seize all their assets, sell it off to their competitors, put their CEO & Board of Directors in jail. You’ll then see how fast these 1% thiefs control their Greed, well a little. Looks like PP is trying to save their multi-million dollar jobs. ‘Well, you can take the profits, BUT we’ll run the business, Bonuses All Around! PUT THE PIGS IN JAIL.
