Roseau, Dominica – January 03, 2010. The internationally famous MV Queen Mary II docked alongside the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth in Dominica on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, one of the few ports in the Caribbean region that can accommodate this vessel.

The Passenger capacity of the MV Queen Mary II of Cunard & P & O Cruises is 2444, and it has a gross tonnage of 148,528. The ship originates from the United Kingdom.

This is the only call that the ship will make to Dominica during this 2009/2010 cruise ship season. Mr. Bernard Warner captains the ship.

Cruise tourism is a major component of Dominica’s growing tourism sector. Over 500,000 cruise passengers (268 cruise ship calls) visited Dominica during the 2008/2009 cruise ship season. Approximately 278 cruise ships are expected to call at Dominica during the 2009/2010 cruise ship season bringing nearly 527,688 visitors to the Nature Island.
