  1. What’s a few deaths and many debilitating diseases due to lead poisoning when some fat cat can line his/her pocket by cutting costs!?

    1. @Alex Ocasio-Gomez you know what you are right by the looks of it both parties are corrupt and run by the same intrest lobbies that are trying to devide us in left and right we all want the same utimately that our kids have drinking water thats not poisend If Micky Mouse or Roger Rabbit were the ones implimenting that I would happely vote for them…

    2. @Alex Ocasio-Gomez Hope your town`s pipes start leeching lead, then when the democrats are the only ones that genuinly try to help. We both know you wont wake up, go eat crow like a good racist.

  2. My mother died of lead poisoning. Folks, it´s a long brutal death. It took her 10 years to die and in the end she weighed 83 lb. And there´s nothing the MDs can do about it. Those polticians who are responsible for these disasters committed homicide.

    1. Why do you people blame everything on politicians? THEY didn’t build any of this stuff! All of this is happening because _THINGS BREAK DOWN,_ and you didn’t know any better when you built them! And, YEAH… Anyone who touches it NOW is gonna try to wash their hands of it. _WOULDN’T YOU?!_ Oh NO, not YOU! You’re _BETTER_ than that! I can tell by the name.

    2. Our water has lead, Tacoma, WA, and they say it is safe. I believe lead levels should be ZERO. To anyone who has had deaths or illness from lead poisoning know my heart goes out to you. Our deepest sympathy. Make the government fix this. Who came before does not matter! Fix this today! Quit deflecting. The blame is to everyone who was in charge equally. Past and TODAY. This is inexcusable.

    1. @Alex Ocasio-Gomez Infrastructure is not Communism. Those people who pay for wells know about it when they move in. Flint and Newark residents did not. Also, they have to pay for their water. Communist countries did not charge people for water.

    2. Newark’s water is not a national problem. It’s a Newark problem–and that makes it a State of New Jersey problem as well. Governor Murphy needs to get on this, and Sen. Booker, who was mayor of Newark for many years, has some questions to answer–as do the people running Newark’s water utility.

  3. There are countries in the world where a crisis like this would immediately see water tankers coming to neighborhoods at least once if not twice a day, a plan would have been conceived and executed to quickly restore the the chemical pipe sealing until all lead pipes have been ripped out of the ground and replaced with modern waterlines, which obviously will take time and cost billions – but what else if not providing the people with safe drinking water is the purpose of a state, a nation?

Not so in the United States of Banana Republic.

    1. @Alex Ocasio-Gomez , no. You are dead balls wrong. When a municipality delivers water it obviously should not be contaminated. The U.S. Code contains thousands of mentions of water.

    2. @Alex Ocasio-Gomez , hey here is something you don’t know those wells in up contaminated by industries like oil companies. Here in Oklahoma Halliburton contaminated a large areas of well water because they were dumping jet fuel on this open area that they have just dumping that fuel on the grown like no body live near by, and guess what like 600 wells got contaminated by the fuel fitration into the grown water. Thats another town here in oklahoma that is a ghost town to and you would not belive why is a ghost town, but i would tell you that they contaminate all the water sources by mining process, like you say. Most have been all those 3world country people moving in that made that happen,

    3. @Darth Mercur , he is just an. Ignorant fool. He is so ignorant that he don’t realize that every mont the city of any county and country charge an amount of money for water use on you house. And you pay taxes over that amount they are charging you. So to the city you are a costumer. A user of utilities that the city provide. So that made the government an the administration of any city town oh state a provider. To the consumer. In turn the consumer have the right to demant better service and better product. This are foundation of capitalist norm’s if you pay for a service and product and you got toll that you providers have no obligation of provide you a good product oh any product at all then you are just getting rob by the municipality you paying that service they charging you for. but like I say he is just an ignorant fool.
On other point this are just steps to push in the future the agenda of private water services. No more public water services everthing will be privatizing. You see look. The Country of Chile how that is working for the poor people the water privatization.

    4. _”But what else if not providing the people with safe drinking water is the purpose of a state, a nation?”_ .. To ensure the wealthy’s right to do business is not impeded.

  4. i’m so glad that michael moore told the truth about how flint is still not fixed, it’s a disgrace. and this is going to happen more, more.

    1. @L T , Two indicted Emergency Managers from Flint ( Both Democrats), falsified water reports to the State Government. Many others also hid the tests. You really need to do some research before you pop off.

    1. Jewel Levy folks….bottled water is nothing but TAP WATER….unless specified SPRING WATER…..hello….

    2. Haven’t bought Nestle products since I heard about this. I always try to shop my conscience and not support those who commit such harms.

    3. A former stock market salesman for Nestle lives next door to me and even though it has been years since he retired he still gets good returns on his shares and refuses to talk about the company ethics. All he cares about is the money. I’m guessing that is a company rule.

    1. Alex Ocasio- Gomez – So immigrants are responsible for lead levels in 100 year old pipework are they ? You stupid clown.

    2. Isn’t this what his dark money and Russian handlers gave trump money to accomplish? Maybe this is the first task trump successfully completed.

    1. pj7 Moore lives in Malibu in the largest SPRAWLING MANSION ON THE BEACH. It would b so easy for him to help Newark, but he is
      all talk.

    2. @Brilliant Hooligans It’s our duty to call out our elected officials when we see injustice. When did we lower our standards for elected officials? These people are to represent us all, not just the select few who are white, male, and wealthy. I don’t see how you could exactly claim he is unpatriotic? The point isn’t even about his patriotism. It’s about the fact that entire communities of folks are being poisoned with their drinking water. And nothing is being done about it! If this were in a wealthy/upper middle class area, it would be taken care of so quickly that we wouldn’t even know about it! Besides, what has exactly happened to the current president’s GRAND infrastructure rebuild that he talks about ALL the time??!! He claims to be the great deal maker. Well, then do something about Newark and Flint!!

    3. @Miloš Obilić You know how to spot an ignorant troll a mile a way? Their comments are void of facts, but full of personal attacks! Try staying on topic and using some facts next time!!

  5. Trump wants to use our tax dollars and buy Greenland but yet people that live in places like Newark and Flint are being poisoned! This is a national emergency! That dude has got to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. @Drew Oliver
Thats a tough question considering its going to cost $75 million and 8 years to replace the lead service lines in Newark.

    2. @Born Villain so it’s a time issue?, cause money eise that should be nothing for New Jersey. I guess first thing is hauling bottled water in to set pickup points, door to door delivery isnt feasible.

    3. Wow you going to blame this on Trump? Lmao.. that’s Cory Booker’s hometown. . But because he’s a leftist you blame it on somebody else..

    1. as long as poor whites keep voting White Supremacist (“Republican” Party) then the country will go on being third world.

  6. Boycott corporations spend your money which small companies an individuals that share your values stop giving money to big corporations let them go down

    1. @paul dini Impossible. I know. One of my sons is a Trump supporter and he is a koolaid zombie. All we can do is outlast them.

  7. Really a bit of socialism mixed with capitalism is not bad. Only capitalism kills people like in Flint and now Newark. Socialism (not communism) is caring for each other.

    1. Sarcastro sarcastro_ +    I always find it interesting that some people of relatively low intelligence think they are making their point stronger by starting out with name calling or some insulting remark. It just means I don’t take anything they say after that seriously. Also, infrastructure problems notwithstanding, you might want to look up the definition of the third world country.

    2. It’s already achieved that status. Gun violence, internal terrorism, poor wages, unpotable water, decaying infrastructure, two tier health system, zero democracy, racism, religious zealotry and intolerance, kids in cages, over crowded prisons etc etc. The shining city on a hill has gone, if it ever really existed.

    3. Matthew Dobbs+  Your wishing doesn’t make it so. Gun violence, unpotable water, etc., are problems of some places. They don’t characterize the country as a whole–which is what you need to make your definition stick. But keep hoping. Maybe if you write it enough…

    4. Uninstall+   As an Australian, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Stay in your own lane, because you have no expertise on the US.

    1. Officials should be charged alongside corporations with manslaughter. Massive tax breaks given to these corporations to lure them into these cities deprive the cities of the funds they need to help keep up the infrastructure of their cities. Removing regulations that are meant to protect consumers and the public to woo these companies do the same thing.

Finally, anyone who lives in an old house knows they have to do some renovations eventually. What are these cities thinking about when they are just as old … if not older than the oldest homes that have been either torn completely down and replaced or knocked down to the studs to repair and renovate? There is soooo much infrastructure work that needs to be done in this country in every city/town that we could retrain a huge amount of people who are unemployed to do just that kind of work for generations. Sad we aren’t using our heads or hearts to solve these problems.

    1. Emperor Don-Nee Chump No chance in 2020 – I really do wish people would pay more attention to what trump is doing to the environment. It’s scary. And an appalling legacy.

  8. Remember the days when we joked about having to pay for clean water and air, like it was a total impossibility?
