Maxwell: Warren Ran An ‘Explicitly Feminist’ Campaign, And It’s Why She’s Done | MSNBC

Zerlina Maxwell reacts after Elizabeth Warren drops out of the 2020 presidential race, citing her "explicitly feminist" campaign as a large reason why the candidate did not find success. "This is a moment where we have to take a deep look at the cultural reason why this is happening," Maxwell said. "We've never had a woman president, and for some reason it seems like only women are concerned about this…. don't just say 'oh well, we can just pick Kamala as the vice president.' Why does a woman have to settle for the number 2 job in 2020?". Aired on 03/05/20.

  1. You lose me at vote for a women in order to get a women in office. I supported Hillary so don’t give me this garbage just because I didn’t support Warren. No one should vote for a candidate based on the candidates race or gender!

    1. @madashell he said “No one should vote for a candidate BASED on the candidates race or gender!”

    2. So… exactly what does supporting Hillary Clinton have to do with, ” don’t give me this…..?” The PROPAGANDA campaign against Hillary, though all false and slanderous, WORKED ! Those who bought the BS elected Donald trumph….there’s no , “don’t give me this or that” ! You did the intelligent thing ! You woke up in 2016 and watched the most corrupt governmental coup in American history unfold before your eyes ! VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO!

  2. Warren being feminist doesn’t bother me one bit as long as its not being shoved in my face. Warren hiring alot of feminist staffers doesn’t bother me one bit, as long as its being shoved in my face. As long as Warren and her staff are thinking about the NATION and the people first….

    1. You may need to edit your second sentence because, I’m sure, you’re trying to say the opposite of what the sentence implies.

    2. @tre artis There’s only so much combativeness about it that a person who already agrees with you wants to hear.

  3. Michael sure has guts!
He’s willing to be totally “discovered” if He runs, which could be a huge mistake! Let’s hope so!

  4. Seems like a ridiculous position seeing as how a woman won the popular vote in 2016. Put a woman in who wins on policy and voter engagement and they can win. I’m not for giving a bonus just because “it’s time for a woman”. It’s always time for a good candidate, regardless of any identity items we care to focus on at a given time.

    1. women are not meant to be fighters, men should fight for their rights, evolution is sexist, i’m sorry, thanks.

  5. Whatever anyone thinks of her campaign it was beautiful to see the support and love her husband demonstrates for her. They are a couple that are role models.

    1. Why are we always praising men when when they support their wife or take care of their kids, like its is something extraordinary?

    1. Chris Butterworth we’ll get past it once America gets past its problem with racism, sexism, and homophobia/transphobia.

    2. @tre artis What if getting past those problems requires getting past identity politics? The only way you resolve a conflict between two groups is by merging them into one larger group. Humans are incapable of doing “us and them” without it turning into “us vs them”. We need unity, and identity politics is a politics of division.

  6. More from our lovely Media news distorters: remember confusion makes money. Who cares? The Michigan governor supporting Biden… That’s news. Biden’s cognitive challenges: that’s serious and real. That’s news. This is… well… pure muckraking. Media crap. Not a “great video.”

  7. She sh¡t all over Tulsi a strong willed fellow woman…

Warren is as much a feminist as she is Native American

    1. She’s a woman who has been successful in what is normally viewed as a man’s field, politics. How do you define feminism?

    2. Well since the word is made up of 2 Latin parts femi and ist. A feminist is one who is “in favor of women” What she did by tearing down and slandering a fellow smart, brave ,successful, honorable woman in that same field wasn’t very in favor of women… No sisterhood there apparently.

As far as a political feminist that would refer to the first and second wave suffragettes that rallied and made their voices heard until the men that held the power in government acknowledged legally that females also have all the same inherit human rights as males (voting being the most well known) sadly women of other nationalities and ethnic backgrounds would not be granted that until much later.

Being a successfully woman in a “male dominated” field does not make one a feminist. Being a serial killer is a male dominated field but if a woman becomes a successful one it doesn’t make her a feminist. lol

    3. @Mr. Wolf Tulsi was and still is a loser, one of the worst candidates; she should drop out already!

  8. Yawn, so the about the half-dozen white men that dropped out before Warren due to lack of support has to do with what then?

  9. As long as women have the same OPPORTUNITIES when running for office that’s all that matters… then it’s up to the individual to earn it!

  10. I was watching fox news and minute ago. Mike Huckabee looks like a crazy man! He really has crazy eyes! Creepy!
