  1. It was a political defense not a legal one. Abuse of power and obstruction of congress have been articles of impeachment before. Those impeachments had witnesses. We need to hear from witnesses.

    1. Whats fuuny, and how I see it, it will fatally implicate the whole administration as crooks. Witnesses are powerful in eyes of public. We have had 3 years of, ( even prior to election) of underhanded practice. Unkraine is probably tip of the ice berg.

    2. @Richard Rosenbaum Contempt of Congress was the third article of impeachment in Nixon’s case (New York Times, July 31, 1974, p. 1). Contempt of Congress is a subspecies of Obstruction of Congress (Congressional Research Service, Obstruction of Congress: A Brief Overview of Federal Law Relating to Interference with Congressional Activities, December 2007 – November 2010: https://www.everycrsreport.com/reports/RL34304.html).

  2. Let’s face the fact: Trump has no friends!!:-) his neighbors hate him; even his wife won’t like him😊 lol!!

    1. @john emeigh – Not even close, loser – that’s EXACTLY what you idiots do – EVERY day and on EVERY thread here. Own it…

    2. @Godfrey Daniel Still angry over things? We gave you your own bathroom hermaphrodite, relax. You’ve only got 5 more years before Ivanka gets elected.

  3. “Ohh, mumbo jumbo. We haven’t tried that defense yet. Thanks for the tip!” – t’rump’s legal team.
    😄😆

  4. I think Graham is the only one pushing for biden. Probably to cover his backslide. I am guessing due to parnas, maybe even the muller report.

    1. I am a bit removed. Living overseas, but whomever wants to ban publication of John Boltons book???? That is so underhanded., unamerican, and probably not legal? If it’s true. We’ll see

    2. @Mike Dixon The Trumpcult no longer cares about what is right or legal – ALL they care about is what they can get away with…

    3. I think it is “Higher Loyalty” . James Comey’s book. Certainly not ghost written, but it gave me faith that there are still reputable, committed, honest people in Washington. Great book. He was completely neutral, non partisan in his stance and investigation , and he made many points that’s it’s crutial to remain keep neutrality and follow law. I have great respect for the man.

    4. You all talk about the captain kangaroos look alike and his book like he’s your savior. It’s just that, someone trying to make money off of Trump. You all have been trying to make something stick for so long your supporters with common sense are starting to wonder if what they are told is actually the truth. As for the hateful one’s they will follow and find out they waisted years of their life brain washed by the fake media….I feel sorry for you.

  5. The Trump Lawyers:
There are people whose souls have just withered, people who are willing to go along with anything evil – anything so as not to be suspected of disagreeing with whoever is in power.
    —- Vasily Grossman

    1. so true of not just the lawyers representing TRAITOR TRUMP, but also of manipulated Republican Cult who chant & basically goose-step at his rallies !

    2. I was thinking this applies more to Republican senators and representatives. The Trump lawyers are more like buzzards circling the corpse of Trump’s presidency and getting their bites out of it while they can, i.e. they don’t believe what they’re up there arguing to the Senate and the American people, but they’re getting a big, fat paycheck out of the deal, and that’s the only reason they’re bothering to “defend” Dirty Don the Con.

    3. It’s as if the Republicans and Trump supporters know he did wrong, but they just don’t care. Don’t care that he did not abide by the rules, therefore, we have a bunch of people who are cheaters, big time. They want to be the ones who get to cheat, but woe if Democrats would cheat. It is their despicable, and bullying way. That is what we are fighting, to keep it clean, honest and lawful in our Democracy and White House.

    4. @birdlynn hubbard Clearly the Republicans have devolved into snarling beasts as they realise they’re cornered. What defense did they promote? All they did was basically criticise the procedure of the Trial.
Unfortunately this has led to a total lack of decorum when it comes to the Republicans, perhaps this is their last Gasp before the tolling of the Bell? Their Party Needs to be dissolved and reformed, there’s way too much corruption in the Republican Party.

  6. Trump cheated and got caught… Prosecute all those involved in their elaborate cheating scheme… Impeach/Remove

    1. Tump hasn’t done anything wrong name one thing he has done worng Averything tump has done was things he said he was going to do win he was campaigning tump gest got Chinese to sine a massive trad with AMERICA 5 days ago then 3 days ago another massive trade deal with usmca and i mean massive this is unheard of in AMERICA economic history you ignorant donkeys 2.7 million jobs created overnight you fools and you all think turmp should be impeached amazing criminal democrats and Deepstate cnn msn have got you all so brainwashed so pathetic fools turmp 2020baby

    2. We have to impeach Bill Barr first, as the top cop himself is implicated in this scheme/coverup. No easy task, but it can be done by replacing the dehydrated orange peel this November.

    3. @Ivy President Trump is innocent until proved guilty. The Dems have yet to give any evidence, and President Trump has already released the transcript for the phone conversation between him and the president of Ukraine, proving he did no impeachable offense.

  7. Republicans defense of Trump sounds like this:

    “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe
    Catch Trump by the toe
But if he hollers, we have to let him go,
    Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.”

    1. @Gary R ah you are obviously one of those under educated trump parrots aren’t you…a rhyme we all learned when we were children or don’t you remember that…oh wait you have been reprogrammed like every other trump parrot and to do exactly that … hear and repeat… and this is your defence for trump…too funny please stop projecting yourself!!!

    2. @Cudaman2 Formula take your fox lies and shove them were the sun don’t shine …we don’t like falsehoods and lies here or the likes of ignorant trump parrots…so please do flock off!!!

  8. This is American History! The Senators that are up for reelection are faced with the dilemma of getting caught red handed supporting a criminal whitewash of Democracy. Just so Orwellian to have the resurgence of Mccarthyism blatantly show up front and center in mainstream America. Just pathetic

    1. @cocomo but the poetic justice is priceless. And you are not alone. My rage started with William Barr trashing the Mueller report

  9. Trump threatens his republicans that he will have their heads on a pike if they go against him, but it is these republicans who actually have the power over Trump. If they want to exercise their power against Trump, all they have to do is vote against him in this impeachment trial and he will be out on the street, problem solved!! They will be heroes to America!!!

    1. The single largest voting block in the US are Trump supporters. The Republicans are scared of the mob. Goodbye Republic , hello Imperial States of America. The corporatist ( the Republicans plus the Pelosi Democrats ) will get there dictatorship with or without Trump.

    2. Trump gets his funding from the Russian mafia and the GOP know it. The GOP knows that one word from Trump can have them…..sleep with the fishes…..like in the movie, the Godfather

    3. Alan Macphail but they’re not. Sure, they are united, but if the rest of voters would vote, they’d be a small minority!

  10. Whether or not Bolton is allowed to testify in the impeachment, one thing is certain: In the months between now and the next election Bolton’s book is going to be shoved by many a GOP TownHall attendee into the faces of many a senator. The pen is mightier than the Stupido-in-Chief.

    1. @skien dhiu Mouth sharper than a sgian dhiu. But show him one and he’ll break the Olympic 400 yard record; foot spurs ‘n’ all. And speaking of sharpies, he’s about to reap the hurricane.

    2. Jen Combs: He was in his own little world of theory and fantasy. There is a saying “Rules are issued for the guidance for the wise and the obedience of fools”, and that is all he preached.

    1. He is a genuine, dedicated Representative of the People. The Dems got together to speak about the GOP’s Anti Healthcare Bill. Watch the video to see Sen Whitehouse and some of our other top drawer reps!

    1. John Daniel …. Why didn’t John Bolton speak up immediately he knew Trump was strong arming Ukraine?
Why does he want to testify now?

    2. I sorta think it has to do w/ the fact everyone seems to be on meth. WW2 has been aired on Netflix & it turns out Hitler & all his Military used meth as a performance enhancing drug up until “Battle of the Bulge” whereas its overuse caused paranoia & conspiracy theories (much like what is going on now) w/ assassinations of “IMMiNENT THREATS’, which could lead to war. The only threat I see is sitting in our White House !

    3. @Denyze Perhaps he was hoping, foolishly, that those few GOP members, who had acted honorably in the beginning by bringing attention to the hold on Ukraine aide back in Aug. and Sept., e.g. Rob Portman, Paul Cook, Mac Thornberry, etc. would continue to do the right thing and he wouldn’t have to admit he hadn’t been brave enough himself in trying to bring light into what was happening in Trump’s cesspool ? Who knows?

    4. @cocomo – Many people who claim to know say the headcase-in-chief is strung out on Sudafed and adderol – a kind of speed…

  11. Guillianni should be supeoned as a witness for all his shady oil drilling contract dealings w/ Soviets during the stand-off of aide to Ukraine !!!

  12. The sad thing is crimes were committed. Now, our government becomes a court house to correct that problem. With those who seek to correct it, and those who seek to cover it up.

    1. It’s true Dizzy Duke. I think that this court is not really the right institution to judge this crime. It ‘s very difficult to find impartial senators. It would have been much better to appoint impartial diplomats.

    2. @Alex Huyghe Or mandate a blind vote. I think these people want to make the right call, they just don’t want their name on it.

  13. Trump Won’t bring up IMPEACHMENT too much in his rallies because he knows over 50% of repubs want testimonies & documents!
